I was really impressed to see the whole back working. I just very recently started watching olympic weightlifting (by accident kind of, thanks KZbin recommendations). This seems like such a cool sport

I have those same Rogue crash pads because neighbors complained about noise. I've cut down on olympic lifts because its so annoying when your use to being able to just drop the weight on the ground. Id imagine its really annoying for a professional olympic weightlifter.
@IntermitenciaMental4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I mean, it's already enough to be focused on your form and making the effort to make the lift, having to keep in mind you can't just drop the bar must be just a pain in the ass.

Hey Mattie. Long time lurker and fan on Instagram and Twitter. Glad to see you more active on KZbin! Quick video idea: equipment overview? I’d love to see what kind of equipment you actually have in your garage, especially in during the COVID-19 shut down. And, if it’s not too much to ask, what equipment are you missing that you miss?

@MiavMis4 жыл бұрын
awdw cd I’m sorry what. Mattie is extremely efficent because she is not as strong (e.g. regarding pulls and squats) compared to how much she snatches/c&j’s. Efficiency has nothing to do with an athletes level. And even if it did, she’s still elite so I really don’t understand this negativity.

Hey Mattie, did you do anything or compensate for the slope of a garage? or just placed the platform down and deal with the slight slope?
@neneDisastrous4 жыл бұрын
Very curious (probably stupid) question. Why do you swipe your hands in the middle of the bar before your lift? Is that just a ritual thing? I see you do that every single time in every single video.
@ClaireElizaM4 жыл бұрын
it is a ritual! she has talked about this before:)
@howardoh4 жыл бұрын
It's partly a ritual, but also partly because bar spin is very important in Olympic lifts (if the bar didn't spin freely, then when the weights on the end spun, they would twist the bar in her grip), and she's spinning the bar. Probably gives her subconscious confidence that the bar will indeed spin freely during the lift.

Are the crash pads (if that’s their name...) enough to stop the sound? I don’t have a home gym yet but it’s the plan... having problems with my neighbors because of the sound is what worries me the most and I don’t want to invest if I won’t be able to train, hope you can answer... a video on the subject would be awesome too. Thanks for the channel, really love the content since I discovered you a couple of weeks ago...
@liptongtr4 жыл бұрын
Yea they are to absorb vibration and help reduce the sound when you drop the weight. Id recommend getting them especially if you live in a townhome. Neighbors complained the very first day i started dropping weight, so had to buy crash pads.

am just curious, maybe I should do the same for now on. Why don't you lift your plates and carry them to the bar? I noticed you roll them on the floor. I usually carry mine over to where I'm going to be ahead of time so I can add them on quickly.
@ClaireElizaM4 жыл бұрын
imo it's less work, when i don't feel like lifting, I roll them, I find it easier! (not to speak for but that is my personal experience!)
