Here is a comment from a newbie who has learned so much from you Donyboy. Was rolling along with my 2y old Honda 928, which, thanks to the knowledge I gleaned from your channel has been impeccably maintained. All of a sudden everything stops. I knew gas was low so I’ll try that … no luck … flooded? No … on KZbin there are a million complicated explanations. Then I remember you discussing this in one of videos - yep,blocked augur …. And thankfully the pins were intact. I am certainly no pro, but I know a hell of a lot more than I ever did about small engines thx to you … and I’m still learning. Don, the one thing a share with my customers, family and friends is to spray the entire intake, impeller and chute with WD40 or even PAM cooking spray before going out. The build up is less and makes the machine work way more efficiently. I buy WD40 by the gallon and have used it for years. The other benefit is the anti corrosion to the machine. Food for thought! @@tazwowe Absolutely… I have even used PAM cooking spray. You will be amazed on how well it works to keep the snow from sticking to the metal parts.

Great idea, I been doing the same thing with WD40 since I got the snow blower, now it's 10 years old and it looks like new, no rust and works perfectly.

@@boblee6093 I just upgraded my big machine, my Toro that I just sold and it was almost 12 years old and looked almost as good as the day I bought it new. The guy that bought it couldn’t believe how old it was. I gave him the same advice. My smaller Honda from 1996 is pretty much the same.

Nice job Donyboy, your machine is working perfectly as expected. I'm in the Buffalo NY metropolitan area and it's been snowing with extremely high winds since Friday morning. It's going to continue through early Sunday morning. There is a driving ban that's been in effect since Friday, I'm waiting for the blizzard to stop so I can get everything cleaned up but it's a waste of time going out there now as the wind is blowing the snow everywhere. Snowblowers are the way to go for a lot of people, plows and plow truck works to but you need a lot more space for snow storage to pack yourself in . I really like these ariens, it’s a really solid machine.

Warmer winter temperatures (closer to 32 degrees) are able to hold more moisture just as warmer summer temps create opportunities for greater rainfall and rising ocean waters temps supercharge hurricanes. Glad to be able to educate you.

Angle the top of your chute down a bit. You’ll get a little less blow back. Other wise, you’re just throwing it into the air for the wind to catch. 😊

I am guessing that was the storm of December 24 through 26 that really pummeled the area. We got about 30 inches here in Bracebridge in those 3 days. Good machine you have there. Good work.

Yup been there, done that. I live along lake erie south of Buffalo. (chautauqua ridge) No stranger to that white stuff. And Lots of it. We had a winter about 6 years ago, in which we had 8 inches of snow every night for all of Jan. We had over 300" of snow that year. Brutal!

3 to 4 inches were predicted for where I live. It's been very cold and windy, but nowhere near the snowfall that was predicted, but I am happy with that. It should go into the 50's with rain next week, so I won't even bother with it. I'll just drive over it.

Don. I have a question I have a single stage Honda HS720. When we have heavy wet snow a lot of times my shoot gets clogged up the snow sticks to the inside of the shoot. I usually find a stick and jam it down in there to clean it out. I found some spray on line made by DuPont for snow blowers it’s a non-stick spray but it still clogs up. Got any recommendations. Thanks 3:43

Spray down your snowblower with WD-40 inside the auger house, and in the fan it makes for good rustproofing all over the machine.
