Sunday, KSR Cutlass Progress Day! Let's go!

I don’t know what it is about this build. I’m not a “drag racer” to speak of, nor do I have plans on buying or building a race car. But something about this build has me looking forward to the Sunday videos on this. I am a car guy, and like all sorts of cars and mods so on and so forth. But the capital and time to play with a project of this magnitude eludes me. Keep up the good work Kevin. Thank you.

Awesome Work Kevin! You're the man!! Keep it up. It is awesome to see the Oldsmobile build, and the story behind it. My dad's Street car is a 1980 W-30, which he purchased in 88 when I was 1 year old. I don't know a life without that car being around!! It is still Olds powered as well ( not nearly as serious lol.). It is a 488cu in. Olds using a 455 block, and an offset ground factory forged 455 crank (yes they actually made factory forged ones!). He cruises it to Saturday morning coffee every week still, and it puts a smile on my face every weekend to see it roll up to coffee. As a kid, I would play with my lego in the back seat, my sister reading a book beside me, and mom and dad up front, driving down the high way 2 hours to our local track to race, with the slicks in the trunk. lol. It will never leave our family, too many memories!!

You can put four bender clamps on the tube at the start. Doing so on a flat surface keeps all four bends on the same plane. A bonus is you can then easily put the tube back in the bender in the exact same spots if you wind up needing a little more angle. I'm getting ready to order a Rogue M625 bender and have been watching all their videos. Thumbs up for the halo bar style cage, it's the strongest design if you take a hard hit to the front corner of the roof.

3:00 as a Californian, that's a Florida thing. I can leave metal in my garage, and it doesn't get surface rust. Maybe after a few years, some will start to form on truely raw metal. Either way, at least it's not Canada. First time I experienced a truely rusty car from Canada it blew my mind. Every single thing that was metal was rusty. Under the hood every nut was just a ball of rust.

Enjoying the content, watch it every Sunday after church. I bought the pay for view, but missed the race, it seems they don't support my server in Tahiti. Actually the past and future is really simple, if you've ever watched a parade you have already experienced it, as you stand beside the road you are seeing the now, the present, the floats that you are presently watching passing in front of you will become the past as they go by and the floats that are behind the present are the future floats to pass before us. Our daily lives is a future, present and past experience. Yes, our future experience has to come before our present experience, before it becomes a past experience.

@KSR Performance & Fabrication Regarding your discussion at the end of the video about the KZbin time warp: I'm a fan of older 'Moody Blues' music...So this concept didn't injure me a bit, it only took me back to their 1967 album, "Days of Future Passed". Filming welding: I bought a cheap auto darkening filter off amazon and tossed it into a metal box. Hot glued it into a window in the box. I put a piece of plexi on the outside to protect the filter I 3d printed the bracket for this but you can just glue or tape it. The on the inside I just glued down a go-pro mount at the correct height. I control it with the app. You need the box to be sealed for light since reflections on the back side of the welding filter will bug the camera out.

Interesting. I liked your program for bending. As an electrician I get the winging it part. After trial and error the more you do it you don’t have to measure as much. Of course I am talking bending conduit. My teacher in apprenticeship bent his own roll cage for off-roading. It was dom didn’t need to meet any race rules. I always wanted to bend my own for my early bronco. I bought a rollcage about 5 years ago for a wedding present to myself. Maybe some day.
