Great work boys! You gotta give massive respect to Shauno and Sammy for only taking those two tuna on day one. You guys could have easily taken more dollies, tuna, kingies etc, but didn't. That's what I call good conservation. Take only what you need for a fresh feed!

Awesome stuff guys ....a dream session that would be. Funny when you mentioned catching small kingies on the flyrod years ago a mate and myself used to regularly fish the Bribie Island Tuna on Fly comps and vowed to take our #2 weights to chase the baby Amberjacks that hang on the channel markers. We caught them on our #8 weights one year but the next had a ball catching 40 cm sized Amberjacks on our #2 weights .... it was hilarious drifting a surf candy on the up current side of the buoy till it got sucked under ... one of use on the motor ready to gun the moment we got a take :) we lost a couple but landed a dozen or so ... so much fun whilst waiting for the tide to push the bait up and get the tuna feeding again.

The Dynamic Duo (the Shaun & Sammy team) had a treble hookup that left Captain Hitzke with a shortage of hands-on rods. They blamed it on a nearby buoy. Was the buoy a fish magnet? The buoy had nothing to say. Meanwhile, S & S had lots to say as they fought to land the fish they could & left the third rod to look after itself. Shaun eventually landed their first nice yellowfin tuna & followed that up with a Dolphin fish caught on the third & previously unattended rod. Captain Hitzke was still having a tough time with his fish that refused to give an inch. Then he had a realisation. He had snagged the buoy & had not caught a sea monster! Underwater footage revealed the enormity of his catch & the fish swimming around it. Hand feeding the school of Kingfish circling the boat provided a short respite from catching the Tuna & Dolphin fish. More fish were caught & released. On land, Captain Hitzke apologised for the microphone failure but admitted it would only have recorded dribble & yahoos & not one swear word. Looking forward to the next DD (SS) fishaganza!

Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats kzbin.infoUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.
@BradGryphonn5 жыл бұрын
There's a trick some folks use to keep excess catch for later...it involves a weighted solo bin with big holes drilled in it with the lid cable-tied shut, and a GPS mark. Problem is, sometimes the sharks decide to try and tear them apart. Totally off-topic, but worth knowing if you ever hook a wheelie bin in the middle of a shoal or reef.
@SammyHitzkeFishing5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a lot of hard work! better off just giving yourself an early mark that day and heading out again the next when you need some more! I'll keep my eyes peeled for them though!
@BradGryphonn5 жыл бұрын
@@SammyHitzkeFishing Close to Chinese New Year is a good time. Live Trout goes for upwards of $75 a kilo off the boat around that time. They're in high demand in China that time of year. I can only imagine what they cost when they land in China. The preferred size is about 1.2-1.5kg, which puts them usually just over legal size if memory serves correct. The live fishers farm the reef very carefully though. They don't strip areas of fish. Having said that, Coral Trout are insane breeders.

I dont get it ... you pull in that Bouy(FAD) - polite name for floating rubbish left by people, retrieve your tackle, then leave it to float away again?? Love the fishing clips 100%, seriously though you're in a position to advocate the care of our environment for the better. FAD's of this manner certainly isn't an example of that.
@SammyHitzkeFishing5 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, As I'm sure you would have seen in many of my other videos I'm a very strong advocate for cleaning up the environment and taking rubbish out of our oceans. In this instance however, both Shaun and myself made the decision to leave that particular buoy in the water as we felt it had forgone it's life as being rubbish and was now supporting a huge ecosystem of life up to 1km radius of it, including a small turtle, that would be left pretty much stranded if we were to take it away. It may not have been the right decision in some peoples opinion, but it's one that we are whiling to stand by in this case. Appreciate your concern though, I think its great to see more and more people are passionate about taking care of the environment! Cheers, Sammy.

I don’t understand, don’t you eat fish. Even if you don’t don’t you know people that eat fish that eat fish that are locked in their house eating canned food.
