20:47 There's a video by HiTop Films about this very scene. You had the same reaction as a lot of people, wondering why that scene was there. Well, up to this point, Peter has been beaten down to his lowest point. He's failing at his job, failing school, and failed all his personal relationships in order to 'be responsible' as Spiderman. MJ wants nothing to do with him, Harry resents Peter, and even Aunt May left Peter in the cold after trying to tell her the truth about Ben. When he finally finds some peace in abandoning Spiderman, he quickly realizes the ramifications of his absence. He has nobody by his side, nobody to be a friend. He can't be happy as Spiderman, nor as Peter Parker. In the midst of all this, the girl down the hall, Ursula, comes in and asks to offer him....some chocolate cake. This scene is simple, quiet, and quaint. But it's exactly what Peter needed in that moment. For someone to show him a small measure of kindness; someone who cares. It shows Peter that he's maybe not as alone as he thinks. You never really know how much a small gesture of random kindess can help someone. It speaks to that simple humanity that we all need.

The Chocolate Cake scene is actually really important to the movie. It shows the beauty and simplicity of good nature, and how it can affect everyone around you, which is what Spider-Man is usually about. That scene pushes Peter towards being Spider-Man again, and it doesn't feel awfully weird to me, it feels more genuine and wholesome than anything.
@davec36512 жыл бұрын
Maybe it was meant to show Peter-Man the importance of slowing down and finding a balance. It showed him a presence that he needed to let into his life. In the final scene in that same room MJ mentions somebody to save him for a change, which seemed to resonate with Peter-Man.
@i-idontknow28512 жыл бұрын
@@davec3651 I think that is also very valid, it's mostly left up to interpretation in the movie, so you take what you can from the scene. I love Sam Raimi's work, there's so much nuance and subtlety, but somehow it's still simple.
@ismaelvargas-osiris61082 жыл бұрын
Number one: I love you're watching the original version and not the extended one, this is great. Number two: there are many versions of the elevator scene around 11:04 (extended edition has a different one). Director Sam Raimi just asked them both to improvise some awkward moment and that's what it is. Number three: Peter can't tell Harry the truth because Norman asked him not to let his son know and Peter respects that final honorable action of him trying to protect his son from the horrible things his father did. Number 4: Tentacles killing everyone at 13:43 is why Sony called Sam Raimi (horror movies director) to make these movies. Note: Otto Octavius was not aware of what was happening right there. Number 5: Spidey is a really good person, so whenever there's no buildings or something, God himself holds his web to save him. I've no proofs of it, yet no doubts either.

in fusion reactors the fuel has to be heated to the point that it becomes a plasma and to maintain this it needs to held in a vacuum using a magnetic field to prevent it from touching the sides of the container since if it were to touch anything the plasma would lose energy and the reaction would stop. if there were to be a malfunction in the reactor i believe all that would happen is the reaction would just kind of stop and the fuel would change state from a plasma and the electromagnets would no longer have an effect so it would just fall to the bottom of the container and cool down. since fusion also produces no radioactive waste there would also be no risk from that. And also cheered on Rick as a perfect good character bc he countered the stereotype w the Only Acceptable White Man stereotype, by giving a big speech about how he doesn't see race. I guess we all have our blind spots. East Asians in post-2000 media rarely - as in pretty much never - are negatively depicted, or depicted w crude or negative stereotypes. White men are pretty much the last group it is ok to depict negative caricatures of. And if they want to be protagonists, they need to explicitly denounce racial self-interest.

@@doza7801 it’s literally a commentary?? You’re supposed to talk.. if u don’t like it then watch reaction channel. Most commentary channel does this because that’s the whole point of commentary.

LAURA ZISKIN was the only one capable to save this movie from AVI ARAD After she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1, there was nobody else to stop Arad from ruining everything May she rest in peace

MJ is the worst. Uncle Ben was searching for Peter since he left, but he is suddenly shot by the thief, who escapes immediately after. Only reason Peter was gone was to make money to buy a car for MJ. The same one who had multiple partners, and even gets engaged to some rando in the second movie right in front of Peter. Who also has to take the damn picture and is slapped by his best friend. Literally who wrote her character this garbage. Anyways besides that and Venom in the 3rd movie, good films.

Honestly Otto is right. If you keep love just stored up inside without releasing it, it will become a sickness. If you hold it in for to long like any emotions it will drive you crazy.

MJ gets a lot of hate thrown her way but she actually put a lot of work in her relationship with Peter. She noticed Pete wasn't there because she literally kept that seat saved for him.

That guy on the train that says "He's just a kid..." I can't find his age but I wonder how much older he was, if at all, than the 29 year old Tobey Maguire.
