What I really love about it is seeing the seeds of his goofiness when he’s not polymorphed. Like, he will still prank people and make jokes in his quiet, awkward way, and I always feel like it’s Caleb letting up when he goes animal. You can still see him messing with Beau a lot, and being sweet to Jester and Veth while in animal form. I always see it as the polymorph itself and the shenanigans he gets up to are part of Caleb’s humor, and he does it specifically to mess with people and have fun. That, and I agree with the theory that he probably feels freer when he’s a little dumber and something else for a while.

@@Secret_Takodachi No, what's sad and weird is this attempt to seem above it or more emotionally mature that the rest of us. Someone doesn't need to be with you long to have a huge impact on your life, especially someone with as strong of a personality and presence as Molly. Taliesin made a character that plenty of people can aspire to be like, one who truly enjoys life to its fullest while doing your best to make everyone else's better. And this would be going on the assumption that he really did have "so little time in the story". He only had such little time *comparatively*, we still had 26 episodes with him. At an average of 4 hours per episode that puts him at around 100 hours we had with him, which for an average 22 minute-per-episode show that would be over 250 episodes. There's no way you can truly believe that's too little time to grow attached to a character without falling into the realms of NPD or Sociopathy, so just admit you don't like him and stop trying to call into question why everyone else does.

He's constantly mentioned or indicated that he thinks Trent is too powerful to take on. But when he wanted to ask how the Assembly would feel about smiting Trent, there was no fear. I think Caleb has made the decision to kill Trent. Not in vague what ifs, but in a solid "I will end you" kind of way.

The progression of Fjord & Jester relationship in this episode is inevitable. In previous episode, Fjord implied that he thought it won’t be right to pursue Jester before his past is dealt with, and so he waited. But the moment in the circle made him realize that time is finite. That’s 5 years of her life, 5 years of what could have been, gone just like that. Who knows how much time they have left now? So he decided to take his chance before they’re running out of time. It’s such a pure, beautiful moment for these two characters. Not to mention it’s adorable to see this married couple fall in love all over again with each other through their characters. The fact that it was twisted and misinterpreted in such a disgusting way by some people is just baffling to me.

Both Jester and Fjord, prior to the pillar, were consenting age with an inconsequential age gap between them (5-10 years max) so Jester getting got played the smallest role in Fjord finally confessing his feelings (as in she was hurt while they were goofing off and he was scared of what is to come and wanted her to know how he felt in case something happens) and that role had nothing to do with her age. Fjord made it clear he had been wanting to do it for a while he just was being a coward. People will really reach for anything to make something sweet and wholesome as the kiss seem icky.

But in important fights he'll want to account for the possibility of death to insure there are stakes.

@@Daredhnu God dam, i have been looking for this comment. The moment the fault was mentioned in the circle I drew my self a diagram. I figured mats original plan was that a person stood in line with the statues forming the 8th figure connecting the circle. But then got confused and had things derail so much he just had the thing effect the person in the middle. Puzzles are always tricky in RPG, because the group can often derail the correct answer.

I know it's the only thing the comments are talking about but the KISS OMG I CAN'T. Looking at everyone else's faces though it was so cute bc at the end of the day they were watching their best friends being all mushy to a level that you don't normally do in front of your bros, a behind the scenes sneak peak into the cuteness. Also Travis throughout the whole thing. That wasn't Fjord's face, that was Travis looking at his beautiful wife. My heart

i can only hope that one day someone will love me so much that when their D&D character kisses my D&D character for the first time they turn as red as a firetruck. it's SO FUCKING CUTE how travis and laura have been married for over a decade and they have a son, and both of them still got all giddy and nervous at that confession and first kiss. you can really see just how much they love one another, they still just have big ol crushes on each other!!! the Willingblam family will never not make me all warm and fuzzy inside :>
