I LOVE your recipe's and I was just about to ask you about a solid conditioner. My mom love the shampoo bar but I hadn't done the conditioner yet. Gotta make mama happy! I looked through the comments but didn't see anything about my question which may be ridiculous but I'm gonna ask anyway. In the beginning the recipe shows 5% of Glycerin but the oz part of it showed 3 oz which is 10%. and when you added it you added 3 oz. So, safe to say it should be 10%?

Well I’ll be damned, I DID miscalculate and added 10% glycerin instead of 5%. 🤪 I think what that says is it’s safe to go up to 10% glycerin without problems! Gonna pin your comment for future viewers - thanks!

How fantastic! This is indeed a great jumping point for a conditioner…love, love the options you’ve given. Thank you so much for all the tips. What do I like the most about your videos? It is simply two facts; that you help and encourage me to learn and that you ALWAYS show us to do what we need to do without worrying about being perfect. Having to put videos out looking all perfect and precise is exhausting and unrealistic. Thank you, thank you for being a simple human. Glad the Mr is getting his stuff done. Much love and gratitude.❤️❤️

This is so awesome! Everyone in my home has different hair types. My daughter's hair is beautiful like Alisha Keys. My sons hair changed when they became young men. One is frizzy, the other is tight curls. Products for African Americans leave their hair oily looking. What I use doesn't have enough conditioning. Loved the Mixed Chicks products, but rather expensive. Looking forward to trying this after ordering some ingredients.

I'm a little late to this party, but I've been using these for several months now (I swap half the castor with hemp), and this conditioner is a GAME CHANGER for me. For years, I've battled psoriasis on my scalp, complete with dryness, redness, and raw patches... even hair loss! I tried everything. From smelly tar shampoos to prescriptions. I finally decided to start making my own products and seeing what happened... This bar saved my scalp and rejuvenated my hair! No more hair loss! A clear scalp! My hair looks GREAT! I know I can't "cure" my psoriasis, and it's with me forever, but this bar makes huge difference in how I live with it! Thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!

There’s a lot of construction going on in the background. I think I got most of it out.

Hi, so I made this recipe and it did great. But I tinkered with it just a touch to use activated charcoal tea tree and bentonite clay. I’m trying to make a detox type of thing for oily hair. I replaced the sea buck horn with cucumber extract and added a half a tablespoon of activated charcoal and a half a tablespoon of bentonite Clay. Everything else is the same. Not heaping 1/2 tablespoons either. They are tacky feeling and soft. I could use it as play dough. My vanilla peppermint bars turned out perfect. Any ideas on how could fix it? I tried adding some more wax but then it didn’t spread on my hair as easily. Idk… If you get a minute I’d love some help.

Hey Mrs. Soap and Clay! I tried this recipe, and for some unknown (blonde moment) reason, I used 6 oz of Stearic Acid instead of the Cetyl Alcohol! Yes, I am a dummy for not paying attention, but when I researched it, it said stearic is not only good and conditioney, but will make the bar harder. They are cooling now; I am interested to see how they turn out!
@MrsSoapAndClay
@MrsSoapAndClay 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! That’s awesome! If you find that they’re difficult to slip across the hair and actually apply the conditioning awesomeness because of the stearic, you can remelt and add some CA.

Where can I find these lovely molds? Can I do a 2 in 1 shampoo bar and conditioner? About the rubbing alcohol is it ethanol or something else

Hey! Mold link below, and the alcohol is isopropyl. Re: 2 in 1 bar, you can do that if you’re making a syndet bar for sure. Have fun! a.co/d/0f0pFY1P

I've been doing a slightly tweaked version of your first conditioner bar recipe. I really do love it. I have a lot of hair... so that one really gives me "big hair" when it's humid. 😂 The only thing that bummed me out is for some reason, a few of my bars got slimy on the tops... I don't think I mixed well enough. So, I kept those ones for me and the fam, but I still got 10 good bars out of it that I can sell... I made them smell just like the shampoo bars I made a few weeks prior. One thing I wanted to ask though... about the buckthorn extract. My bottle says to refrigerate after opening, which is fine and dandy, but when I added it to my beard balm, it didn't want to mix well at all. It fought me every step of the way. Now... that was before I even had to refrigerate it, so I can only imagine how it would act when cold and add it. Is there something that I did wrong? I'd like to use buckthorn in more beard balms and maybe some of the conditioner bars... I used nettle in my previous conditioner bars and that mixed in fine.

Always always love your videos. What oils do you recommend for thick and curly hair?
@MrsSoapAndClay

Great question! I like Shea, castor, and avocado for curly hair.
@MsAubrey
@MsAubrey 2 жыл бұрын
@@MrsSoapAndClay I had wondered during this vid too. Rather than avocado [because I don't have it ☺], could I get away with using Rose Hip or Meadowfoam? Can I replace castor for say, hemp seed oil? Just wondering. These are just curiosities and I could always find out on my own... it's just easier to ask. 😁 I'll play around with it.

Really enjoy your videos! I've been binge watching them all month to catch up to present. I'm a new soap maker so excuse the stupid question (if it is): Would this recipe affect color-treated hair any differently than un-color treated hair?
@MrsSoapAndClay
@MrsSoapAndClay 2 жыл бұрын
you know, I don't have a good answer for that! so much goes into hair coloring that it's hard to say definitely yes or no. for my part, I do color my hair and have never had problems with any of the shampoos or conditioners that I make, but my hair is pretty minimally processed, so I don't know!

@lorenmedina6428

BTMS is the conditioning part (gives the hair the slippage), with the BTMS 50, there will maximum slipage as BTMS 25 only contains half of th.

Mrs. Soap and Clay-"Natural and whatever in the s#!t that means" I about fell on the floor!🤣 I think it was in your soap paste video. Have you thought about a liquid bubble bath using the soap paste? Thank you for all you do!
@MrsSoapAndClay
@MrsSoapAndClay 2 жыл бұрын
You can absolutely make a liquid bubble bath with the soap paste; I don’t know that I’ve ever done a video on it, but the formulation would be similar to a hand soap using soap paste, with perhaps some added bubblers like SCI or SLSA.

what preservative should you use for the optiphen or optiphen ND?
@MrsSoapAndClay
@MrsSoapAndClay 2 жыл бұрын
You could go either way; I would choose Optiphen over the ND for this one as there are more oils than waters in it and the pH range may not fall in the rather narrow margin of the ND. Have fun!
