I lost my dad a few weeks back, he was all I had left. He loved fishing but was getting old so he couldn't do much with it, I showed him KZbin so he could watch videos on it. Few days after He showed me your channel saying " Some day I'll fish with him!" Haha..its surprising because he hated technology but would sit for hours watching and rewatching your all your videos..also he was 87 and wanted to be out jumping on rocks all just for a fish. Now I think I'm going to start fishing, see if I can continue his hobby. Thank you for making his last few months here his best.

I don’t fish, even tho, apparently, I live in prime real estate for it. But I love catch and cook videos or even just those videos of Japanese restaurants prepping a massive grouper or buying lobsters or crabs and watching them take it apart and cook it. It’s so calming for some reason. Maybe it’s like a mutual thing. We can all see ourselves doing it, and even tho we aren’t the ones catching anything, seeing someone catch literally anything feels almost rewarding or like something to be proud about. Nothing else does it.

@@thomasromano9321 nothing worse than getting cornered in a wash by a rattlesnake with nowhere to go.
@thomasromano93215 жыл бұрын
@@DACFalloutRanger Absolutely. I was walking near the Toulumne River and heard a rustle in the leaves, and looking down saw a rattlesnake crawling away from me over the ground. He was about three feet long. He didn't coil or strike at me, but it was scary when you're twenty years old and don't have a snakebite kit with you. I was so naive then! Later that day, there was a thunderstorm building up over the Sierras. The thunder was booming from peak to peak with the wind roaring over the trees. I saw something dark on the very trail I was walking on. It was another rattlesnake, a baby, couldn't have been more than a foot and half long. I tapped him with the end of my fishing rod and he scooted to the other side of the trail, and that's where I left him. He just lay there, probably because the barometric pressure was lowering and he's a reptile. That's all that happened to me, but it was nerve wracking to think I could have stepped on him. I camped that night in a public campground in a place called Pate (Peyte) Valley that was known to have rattlers, but I didn't see any more.

The bait, structure, and the environment... when you find a pattern stick with it, until it changes. Then adapt to the 3 again. So you are doing it right. Rule #4 they call it fishing, not catching. #5 when in doubt, start at rule #1 again.

“Culmination” is the word you seem to be searching for towards the end of the video

Beautiful sentiment and beautiful message my man. Id say your pops was w you in that fish, and then such is the game, you're humbled shortly after. Life and fishing specifically are incredible in their reminders, this shit wont ever be easy, but it'll always be worth it. Tight lines my guy.

Great video again. Sometimes the struggles during the adventure makes the trip worth the fight and memories that will last a life time. Keep doing what your doing Matt. Living The Dream!

I just went from your first fish on a fly rod video to this. I didn't make the time between them connection, and the difference in your knowledge (and fly box) blew my mother effing mind. Great videos and great water, keep it up!
