When I was newly on the road here in Canada and parked at a truck-stop overnight, I received some very good safety advice from a nice cashier. It was busy in the morning with everyone getting coffee. There were no lids, so when I got to the cash with no lid on my coffee, the cashier insisted that I go back over to the coffee area with her while she restocked the lids. She said, "You are traveling alone, right? Did you see all those truckers in line this morning? Some of them are really nice guys, but some of them are not. Always buy 2 coffees, and they will assume you are getting the coffees while your husband is getting gas in the car. Put the extra coffee in a thermos for later once you are back in your vehicle." Good advice.

That's a great idea -- wish I had a thermos, also I don't stop at truck stops often but if I do I'll remember this tip, thank you!
