Hey Daniel, loved your last couple videos. Found them both touching and inspiring.

When I was a child I had so many problems, and my life was such a challenge, I am not even sure how did I survive relatively unscathed. Because when you have a mental illness, and you do not receive any help, it soon becomes physical. Mental illnesses are, more than physical illnesses, associated with depression; and depression causes problems in your guts. These problems make you tired, then you become even slower than you were before. Anyway, all psychologists around me were totally ignorant about autism. One, for example, when my mother told him about my tics, burst into laughter and said tics only occur to elderly people. Another one kind of diagnosed me with depression, but said he was full up and could not help me. I pretended with another one to have epilepsy fits and he diagnosed me with that, prescribed me medicines and sent me to a psychiatric hospital twice, which sent me back both times straight away. Finally, at age 25 I moved to another Country. I am now 41 and so far I have never been diagnosed. The only thing I ever had is ASD, possibly associated with ADHD and depression, both very common for people with ASD. I think it is a little too late now, given my useless life spent with a condition that is seen as characteristic of children, which diagnosis I missed when it was the right time.. I regret that..

Just subscribed to your channel! Sounds like a really good thing you're doing! :-) I wish though that more neuropsychologists accepted Medicare. When I first started looking I thought it would be pretty easy; just pick one out and go get the assessment, but it turns out that most are not really set up for adults. Many accept Medicaid because lots of disabled children have that form of insurance, but have not signed up to accept Medicare and that leaves especially older adults out in the cold. Experts just recently began to realize there are adults out there who have not been officially diagnosed and they're not prepared to meet the demand of all the adults coming out now. Ones who are skilled at identifying it in women are even harder to come by.

I know someone who is an aspie, but they're not diagnosed. They had such a hard time getting a job, that they're worried that a diagnosis would look bad on their resume.
