I would’ve bought this if the artwork was better to be honest. You’re not alone in thinking it looks off. The Walmart exclusive 4k release has a fantastic cover, so I bought that one. It turned out to only have that art on the slipcover and the standard iron spider+strange for the actual case but it still looks nice

It’s a great steelbook. There’s only one thing, and it’s the tentacle arm that gets cut off when the full case is open, but honestly i think it still look great. Plus it’s better than getting an outstretched image. I think it’s great for what we got

Glad I bought the non-steelbook case. I wish I got that Walmart one though but I hate shopping at Walmart and it was an impulse buy cos I bought it on my birthday. I wanted The Batman steelbook case but it says “coming soon” which really means they’re out of pre-orders. So I ordered the Walmart version despite what I just said.

The cover basically shows Spidey clinging onto the train while he's in Dr. Strange's mirror world or whatever he calls it.

I think you’re being too nice. The artwork sucks. The composition is a mess. The buildings on the right throw off the symmetry too much. Electro upside down looks stupid, I get the intention but it doesn’t work with the other characters being more or less upright. The sense of depth is also pretty poor. I get exaggerating distance, but Doc Ocs arms looking like they’re a mile long doesn’t work in this. His claws/hands should look huge up close while having him small in the background for that exaggeration to pay off. Pretty unfortunate that all of the art for this film is so poor, especially when Spiderverse is like top tier. The slipcover variation of Peter in front of the billboards in the rain is the only nice one IMO. No offence to the guy that designed this but Marvel/Sony have the money to be paying for better artists (which they often do if you see the new Thor posters)

Still a million times better then the target edtion. Target got really cheap with what they released. Stay clear of that one. I used to always get the target edtions becase I loved the gallery books. But not they dont include them but really cheap art prints that really look and feel cheap.

Recently I looked up the No Way Home exclusive and though the artwork itself is neat, its ultimately just a couple of art cards in front of the generic black 4K case.
