You'll have those goosebumps from the first note to the last. 👍😉 Austin gave it everything he had and you can feel every word he sings. Love how Home Free took this song back to its origins from the 1955 prison movie Unchained. This was ten years before the Rightous Brothers smash hit version. The slower doo-wop style set the mood of someone thinking about their family while in prison. Home Free as usual did a totally outstanding job on the song and the video. Looking forward to more Home Free.

The Righteous Brothers had a big hit with "Unchained Melody" in 1965. Home Free did such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or finishing his sentence and returning to his wife & family. The song focuses on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time".

The leads, the harmonies, the Doo-wop, the bass, everything just so good. Also wonderful how they bring back the real story. Home Free can take a classic and nail it. They do a great job with Take Me Home Country Roads. They kill Folsom Prison Blues. I love how they put their own spin on songs. Basically everything they touch comes out as good as, and usually better than the original.

Tim Foust (the bass) has a 5 octave range. There is a video of his "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay" that will totally blow your mind - he sings all the parts. Austin Brown (sings the last part) has a solo rendition of this song on his channel that is sooo good.

Takes meback to a much simpler time, of soda fountains and Lusck Strkes in rolled up t shirt sleeves. Was days of 45 records and we sang along with it Doo Wop, hot rods girls in poodle skirts, leather jackets and wooden match sticks between lips. Night my best girl and I got kicked out of dance night insmall rural high school Gym for dancing too close. We snuck back in two more times and at third time other guys and gals joined us. Songwriters Hy Zaret (lyricist) and Alex North (music) wrote this for the 1955 movie "UNCHAINED " originally sung by Todd Duncan. There are over 1,500 recordings of this song which include the most acclaimed and popular version by Bobby Hatfield 1965, in1955 there was Al Hibbler, Les Baxter, Jimmy Young ,Roy Hamilton and the Manhattan Transfer 1984 and this homage to the movie by Home Free 2022.

The bass you hear in the beginning is Chance covering bass while Tim sings lead...in a lot of songs you can barely, if at all, notice the hand off when they switch back and forth....amazing. Also, Austin did this entire song solo (with piano) on his channel....also amazing.

It’s beautiful isn’t it?!! Home Free went back to the roots of the song. It was written for a movie called Unchained in 1955 about prison. Loved Tim’s low notes in the beginning. He has an amazing range….5 octaves, so he can sing super low and also up in the tenor range. Loved the black and white film and the typewriter. Just a pretty rendition. Loved your reaction and I subscribed for more Home Free. Try Helplessly Hoping, I Can’t Outrun You, In the Blood, Die a Happy Man, One Man Band. Enjoy! (Just so you know, in older videos, Tim (bass) has longer hair. He cut it during Covid.

When you mentioned how low the one can go it reminded me of the Oak Ridge Boys and how low their baritone could go. And Home Free and the Oak Ridge Boys did a rendition of “Elvira” together. While the song was always goofy it was something to hear all the harmonies between the two bands.

Although I am a home fry I'm going through their catalog slowly. That was really really impressive. If you want to have your mind blown React to home free when a man loves a woman. It was done during quarantine. I noticed that it's been 9 months since you did a Pentatonix reaction. I thought that you liked them. So Could you please react to there cover of the prayer. I never liked celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli Version. I like Josh groban and charlotte church. Now Pentatonix is #1 with josh groban nipping at their heels. I am glad that you added home free.

Others may hay recommended this already, but you should also check out Austin's solo version of this song. Even if you just listen to it yourself, not for a video. It's absolutely incredible and was actually the song to lead me to the whole band.

I grew up dancing miles and crying a million tears to this song, being a teen. I love this arrangement, it similar to the original but different enough to notice, not enough to make you cringe thankfully. So far have never heard a cover from Home Free, Voiceplay or PTX that made me go, they messed up that song, it has always been an upgrade to me.
