So, in Lost World, a lot of the levels show their best design when you try to get through them spindashing AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Whenever it's available, you want to keep a constant spindash chain going. Act 4 gets kinda awesome that way. I know this will sound insane, but the game starts to be a little like Unleashed. The routing is less high/low alt paths, and more a series of very quick obstacles. Like think of the spiraling thorn vines in act 4. You can slowly but safely walk through the spiral. You can carefully hop over the vines. Or, you can be blasting through with the spindash, and do a series of hops where you maintain your spindash, but also hop over several vines at once, all while turning to rotate the stage so you can hit the spring above, taking you to a better route. It's tricky, but you go much faster. Getting the red rings and going for the (sometimes hard) s ranks really helps show some of the hidden depth to the level design, like many Sonic games. Even the 2d gets a little better (although 2d stages are much better in the 3ds game) When it really clicks, at it's best moments, this game is like a cross between Adventure and Unleashed. There are even big Adventure style skips in Windy Hill 4. With all that said, great video! It's ok if you hate Lost World, lol

Whole kind of Generic Theme wise, I always enjoyed Windy Hill because of the Lively Visuals and Cheerful/Calming music. The level design made it fun to Speedrun after learning how to properly use the Controls like the Infinite Spindash and Parkour. When’s the Elise Video?

I’ve always felt like Sonic Lost World was a decent game. It wasn’t perfect by any means at all though, the gameplay in 2d was really un fun (except for that one dragon stage in sky road), the game does a crappy job at preparing you for the challenges ahead, Sonic and Tails were written very poorly, the wisp were shoved in just for s*its and giggles, and the gimmicky stages are annoying. But other than that the game was alright.
