I imagine it takes place after Lost World. As for Mania, well SPOILERS even though it could exist in another dimension games that have happened could fit into its past. I think the timeline is straight forward Sonic 1, Sonic 2, and finally Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Let me explain. In the Mania timeline Team Hooligan may not even exist and just be the shape shifting hard boiled heavy. The Game Gear version of Silver Sonic in Mania to be a mass produced version of Metal Sonic, albeit a a basic badnik version because resources. As for Little Planet, well it could be the planet's first appearance in the Mania timeline. And what of the Phantom Ruby? Well I personally think it's a By-product of the Super Emerald's creation but only time will tell.

Your confusion over Nega being Eggman's descendant is a bit weird to me, since Eggman is canonically over 50 years old. He looked up to Gerald as a child while Gerald was still alive, and Gerald died 50 years ago. It's entirely possible that Eggman ALREADY has children out there, maybe even grandchildren, but he's just an evil bastard and doesn't visit them. Nega is inevitable. As for his wife... well as we all know, Shadow the Hedgehog pissed on his wife, which is why Eggman pissed on the moon. ;)

Basically Sonic and Shadow used Chaos Control to send the ARK back in time(which explains Sonic knowing what Shadow meant by “but that alone is insufficient”) and undid it’s actions, the Sonic Group(and Dr. Eggman) were shielded by the Master Emerald to prevent being sent back in time and losing Memory. This fixed the Moon for Future games.

She most likely thought it could have been another Hedgehog that was blue, but soon afterwards she comes to the 100% conclusion that Sonic is(or could be) the Iblis Trigger, but even then she doesn't believe it, but puts her feelings aside since she knows Silver doesn't know that she knew Sonic before and in turn could draw a wedge between their friendship. On a lesser note, in her unused Voice Clips, She calls out to Amy, meaning that if she didn't know Sonic, she knew Amy, proving that Sonic Rush happened prior.

I'm pretty sure Spinball isn't canon to the timeline, it takes place in the SatAM universe. Also The cities seen in Adventure and Adventure 2 are much more modern, while the cities in the Riders games seem more futuristic. This would seem to imply that the Riders games take place much further on the timeline. Supporting this is that the Babylon Rogues don't appear in person at all in Generations, even though they should be his "friends" in the same way as the Chaotix, through association with him. This implies that he hasn't met them yet. Rush taking place before Advance 3 is strange as well. Rush is the game where Sonic masters the Boost, which he seems to have been practicing in Advance 2 and 3 as he can enter a speed faster than his usual top speed after running for long enough. By the time of Rush, he seems to have mastered this ability, able to activate that speed at will and damage enemies while using it instead of the other way around. The canon version of the timeline takes place on the timeline where 06 never happened due to erasing itself. As such, while it does deserve acknowledgement, it doesn't belong on the timeline. Sonic Pocket Adventure should also be on the timeline. Assuming that the character designs are canon, Pocket Adventure would be the first game on the timeline to have Green Eyes Sonic, notably with his classic chubby design otherwise and features Eggman's transition from his classic outfit to his modern one, placing it before the Sonic 4 episodes. However, it's also possible that the Sonic 4 games take place in the alternate Classic timeline created in Generations. The same is true for Mania. Personally I feel like 4 takes place on the main timeline, but it is still an awkward position on the timeline.

Do you have any evidence of the SatAM connection? That's a pretty decent point. I do counter that, likewise, only characters Sonic had met at that point in the main series show up in Riders, excluding the likes of Blaze and Silver (at least, early on). Admittedly, your argument is a little more sound than mine. When a few more games are out and I add those to the timeline, I'll have to reconsider Riders' placement. Interesting. It still happened, though, so it does belong here. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh, Pocket Adventure will be the end of me. Guess we'll have to wait and see with Mania and Project.

Ok so Eggman Nega is from the future but the only reason he's in Sonic Rush is because he traveled form the future to the Soul Dimension to take the Soul Emeralds but Blaze stops him so he then goes to Sonic's Dimension to take the Chaos Emeralds, gets help from his ancestor, loses to Sonic and Blaze, returns to his future, Rivals 2 happens and I guess that's it so far for Eggman Nega.

Okay I found here a few mistaks so I though letting you know about it -Sonic Cd was officially comfirmed during its 2011 re-release to be after Sonic 3 and knuckles But before Sonic 4 -Sonic Spinball is considered non canon with things like the mentioning of Mobios, Robotniks design and the cameos of Sally and Bunny is it clear that this game is suppose to play in the Sonic SatAm continuity. -Its highly daubful that SA1's usage of the mystic ruins is suppose to be a retcon many things in SA1 for example show that this Characters use to have there classic design like the Sonic table in Casionopolis or the Hedgehog hammer game on the Egg Carrier and games such as Sonic Pocked adventure showed Eggman onscreen going from his Classic to his Modern look. This also would fit rather well with a screenshot from the original version of Windy valley is used as a Little planet stand in for sonic's first meeting with Amy (and yes we do know for a fact that CD happened in the Japanese version does a kind in the casino area from Station square directly reverence sonic 3 and sonic cd) -Tails Sky patrol plays after he and sonic first meet as stated in the games manual it probably plays at the same time as Sonic Cd and so explains why he wasn't present there. -There is no way Fighters is canon be it because of the 8 Chaos emerald or because the Death Egg 2 being in canon what we saw in Sonic 4 episode 2. -Advance 1 actually has to play even before Adventure 1 because the Tornado 1 is still intakt while he was destroyed in Adventure 1. And the whole Eggman Empire thing doesn't mean much simply because the whole Sonic calling him Eggman was NOT in the Japanese version. -Technically would pinball party be a bit latter in the series given that in SA1's final Chaos destroys station square but as we clearly saw in Advance 2 was this the first time she and sonic meet which means it has to be after that as well. -Not a mistake but thank you for acknowledged that Shadow comes before battle. -The Blue hedgehog line in 06 doesn't mean that she recalls sonic (that she doesn't is perfectly shown by her not interacting with Sonic when there do meet in Kingdom valley at all) but its a poorly translated Japanese word play with With Blue hedgehog could with out any fortheer context also mean Naive hedgehog which is what Blaze keeps calling silver in 06. (at this point just my point of view to the Nega/Silver/Blaze issue At the end of Silvers story in 06 does Blaze sacrifice her self sealing her self in another dimension but do to the time change at the end of 06 did her soul get stuck in said other dimension where she was reborn as the Blaze we know from the Rush games(which would explain her odd feeling when working together with Silver in Colors and recalling memories from her previous live in Generations) while Nega originally Eggmans decedent ended after this defeat in Rivals 2 up in the past of Blazes dimension ones again trying to undo his Grand grand grand father failure does he this time Team up with Eggman from the a point in time before Rivals 1(as oppose to the impersonating her tried before) and pretends to be his Alternative realty version Meaning that while Rush comes before Rivals do from Negas point of view come the events of Rivals before the events of Rush) -For the Metal Sonic there are no less than 5 of them 3.0 in rivals 2 is just Nega's third one after he used 2 others of his own creation in Rivals 1 with both over the curse of the game got destroyed Eggman had beside the Original Sonic Cd Unite that was retried in Episode metal a rebuild known as Metal Sonic Kai first seen and so called in Knuckles Chaodix (but despite being a whole new body did Kai use the originals AI which Eggman could savage after the defeat of the Original one in Sonic cd. Oh Boy 06 this is going to be complicated First of all the worst thing about 06 time travel is there isn't one way to time travel in 06 You see all Time Travels caused by chaos Control end in Causal loops same goes with Mephiles on his own as seen in how escaping from Shadow at flame core didn't effect the time line at all also do both allow to travel between different timelines as seen with silver returning from the time line in which Solaris was reborn back into his own bad future. Mephiles With 1 Chaos emerald Causes Alternativ timelines to occur as seen with Sonic saving Elise not deleting Silvers bad time because the timeline in which Solaris is reborn was a split one because of Mephiles interference And Finally Solaris him self just like the Time stones in Cd actually do change a signular time line and his effects. Now that we know that time travel in Sonic is pretty complecated lets go from here There is one original unseen time line in which Elise dies on board of the Egg Carrier as seen in the article in Mephiles data base (the existence of his base also suggest that Mephiles did gather information for quite some time in order to put his plan together) Sonic´'s roll in Mephiles plan was to use his ability to fast become friends with other people to break through Elise and so cause her to actually have a emotional connection to someone again and the moment Elise truly cares for Sonic is the moment were Killing sonic will break her make her cry and allow him to fuse with Iblis in the Form of a mindless flame (its quite obvious in both Fights with Iblis that Silver has that Iblis has some kind of mind of its own while Mephiles wants it in a pur mindless flame from) This means that every thing he did including getting Silver to attack Sonic was all part of his plan to insure that Sonic Keeps saving Elise and spends so more time with her ultimately making her attached to sonic so that sonic's death would break her. So the real issue here is we never actually seen the events leading up to Silvers bad future but because Mepjiles when traveling back created an new timeline do non of the things happen after Mephiles sends him self, Silver and Blaze to the past actually effect there time line Well except for Solaris rebirth with is an event so great that it effects all of time including the alternative original timeline Silver comes from. And as I already previously explained Blaze "Blue Hedgehog?" comment comes from a Japanese pun which means the events of Rivals and Rush didn't happened until the end of 06 Changed time so dramatically that Eggman actually good to have Sex (Well his Japanese Heroes description says he is a womanizer so who knows) The Rival games are a bit hard here because there never specify which form of Time Travel is used but with Silver keeping memories of his bad future and was able to change time does it imply that in Rivals 2 it was with the usage of the Time Stones because beside Solaris are there the only thing in Sonic that was shown to be able to perform such a task while Rivals one no change at all seams to happen given that Onix Island(I would like to mention that Silver in Rivals is an idiots for not recognizing Sonic and Co when there are attractions themed after them on the theme park on Onix Island which is from his future as well given that Eggman's failures seam to me legendary enough to ruin the Name Robotnik forever) seam just fine and given that Nega did this with the Master Emerald would probably the same time loop effect as with Chaos Control apply which does work with Rival 1's story So I say Time loop Chaos Control in Rival 1 and Time stones time change in Rivals 2. And Generations we don't know much but Forces and Mania indicate that it did split the time line into the one we know and a new one in which mania takes place in. -I thing you could have mention in your whole time line that the earliest intervention of the Black Arms happen 2000 years ago when there created there battle ship in Glyph canyon. -You did miss Sonic Pocked adventure were Eggman changed from his classic to his modern look So that would be all that I found I appreciate that you did so much research and I can't blame you from some of your mistakes because sonic is really convoluted and I my self did many mistakes much worse so overall good work.

1. I decided to write this way later in the video so I forget exactly why I'm saying this but I want to point out that sa2/b is the first meeting of sonic and shadow and sonic clearly recognizes shadow as someone he already knows in shadow the hedgehog. I don't remember the dialogue in heroes that well but I think sonic also acts like he already knows shadow? so it's hard to really say that any shadow appearance is before sa2/b 2. there's a line in the opening of sonic forces where sonic is running through green hill and he says something to the effect of "eggman ruined my favorite spot!" so he probably actually does just run through green hill for fun sometimes. that game came after this video obviously but it came to mind and it's kind of interesting lore imo

I tried doing my own timeline and otherwise getting even more in depth into connected the different and sometimes often contradictory canon of the Sonic games. I usually throw out Sonic Spinball because, like Mean Bean Machine, it is set in a different Sonic continuity - the "SatAM" TV show, as Dr. R's MBM is set in the "Adventures of Sonic" TV show. But it's pretty awesome to think that Spinball could feature the blue or cyan emerald later added to make 7 in Sonic 2. Speaking of which, the contradictory Emerald colors, numbers, and whereabouts (the Emeralds were supposed to have been on Cocoa Island in Tails Adventure "since ancient times," meaning it would have to predate Sonic 1 technically; unless the manual meant it was only "said" to be the Emeralds resting place "since ancient times"?) often make me think the original games' canon was that each island had its own set of Chaos Emeralds. This was obviously retconned, if so, later in Sonic Adventure onward, and for good reason. Speaking of which, Sonic 1 and 2 had a pink/purple Emerald but it got dumped between Sonic 2 and 3. Sonic gets hit by Knuckles and loses the Sonic 2 Emeralds by the waterfall on Angel Island near the beach. In Sonic Mania the Egg Robos find a pink/purple emerald or ruby. Just saying. Moving on, some of the creators of the Genesis Sonic games have claimed that the Game Gear and Master System Sonic games are not canon. Meaning Chaotix is also most likely not canon. Like you, I try to keep these games as best as possible. And, yes, I place Sonic 4 eps 1 and 2 before Metal's return to the [big] planet (from, er, the "little" planet), meaning my timeline is just slightly different. Metal Sonic appears in Sonic Chaos, right? I forget, but I think you mentioned it. So I would place that sometime after Sonic 3&Knux and Sonic 4. Technically, I read once that the Japanese manual says that the Metal Sonic in Chaotix is a newly built Metal Sonic since the one in CD was destroyed, but I can't find that anywhere so it must be another faulty memory or I got duped again. I'm as bad as Knuckles, apparently. But here's something: the manuals don't have to be canon unless they are corroborated by in game cut scenes or etc. What actually gets into the game rules. I normally leave out games like Pinball Party from my timeline theories, by the way, as long as the story therein has no lasting impact on the rest of the game canon. Speaking on Blaze and Silver, my theory was that either Blaze sealed herself into an alternate dimension at the end of Sonic 06, that being the dimension she later calls home (but completely disagrees with the canon that she was born there, but does make since as to why she has fire powers...???) or that Blaze, Silver, and Eggman Nega all come from an alternate future. Nega does not exist in the Sonic 2006 "bad future" because Eggman died in 06. However, when Sonic rescued Elise and prevented Eggman's death, and when Silver managed to help them defeat the ... I dunno, fire god... I never completed this messed up game, I just KZbind the cut scenes so I could stop torturing myself... they adverted the apocalyptic future, turning it into Blaze's tropical island world of Rush Adventure, and assuring that Eggman would eventually somehow woo a lady and have offspring, resulting in Eggman Nega. Actually, I theorize that Nega is secretly Eggman himself, gone insane and probably partly an android or something to give him long life, but that's not provable at all. In Sonic Colors DS we see Silver and Blaze meet again... Apparently referencing a faint memory of the alternate 06 timeline, but not remembering meeting each other in the new time line. Silver does say his future is bright and green now, though. Anyway, the Silver/Blaze/Nega debacle is confusing is best put to rest, I suppose.

My simple answer for 06 was that the ending "Fixed" everything, with Sonic remembering his adventures and headed off to Soleana to make sure Eggman didn't appear. "Fixed": Everything was snapped back into place after Eggman broke the timestream. Possibly a little different, but for the most part the same. And then Generations happened where Sonic meets his past self creating a time paradox and Eggman Permanently damaged the timeline to where Sonic could make it stable, but not completely fix it. This creates a separate timeline/dimension for Classic Sonic for Mania and Forces while not shoving it into Modern Sonic's timeline. This is also where the split timeline for Sonic Boom is created.

Here is my current Sonic Timeline for the Classic Series: (By the way, I mostly ignore design changes until Pocket Adventure, because it's around that point that it's really set in stone. Until then, any shifts in character design are non canon, like Sonic 4 or Advance 1. I follow information from the classic manuals a bit, but because of all of the different ways the classic series can be interpreted, I also kind of just did what I wanted sometimes, since the classic games don't really specify anything in game.) SegaSonic The Hedgehog (Manual of Sonic 1 says Robotnik and Sonic had faced one another before, but without badniks. This is the only game I could think of that would make sense here.) Sonic The Hedgehog 1 (duh) Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Robotnik builds the first Death Egg and Robo Sonic, the first Metal Sonic prototype. Purple Emerald is returned to the Special Zone before Sonic gets it.) Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles: Sonic and Tails Campaign (Mecha Sonic is created. More advanced than Robo Sonic, but still Sonic can still defeat him by normal means.) Sonic The Hedgehog CD,Tails Adventure, and Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles: Knuckles Campaign (Sonic visits Little Planet while Tails explores an island. Metal Sonic is built. He is made of a special alloy that Sonic can't break through, and so Sonic can only defeat him by making him crash into a wall of a similar alloy at supersonic speeds. Knuckles destroys Mecha Sonic.) Sonic Advance (At the end of the game, before the final battle, Eggman is running out of inventions to destroy Sonic resorting to reusing his ball and chain and drill car. This shows that he is running out of money, which explains the next couple of games. Sonic also sets out on his own for a while after the final battle on the Moon.) Sonic Labyrinth (All Robotnik mustered up were some pathetic slow down shoes that don't even prevent Sonic's spindash. Clearly he has no money. Sonic's friends still don't know where Sonic is, but Robotnik tracked him down.) Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 and Tails Sky-patrol (Sonic defeats Eggman once again, still on his own. While Sonic is gone, Tails dreams about a silly adventure, where he defeats an evil witch and gets to fly around while eating his favorite treat, mint candy.) (Insert Sonic Advance 1 ending here) Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode Metal and Episode 2 (Metal Sonic is reawakened and repaired, and Robotnik creates the Death Egg Mk. II, which encases Little Planet.) Sonic The Fighters (After escaping the Death Egg Mk. II, Tails is able to build a space craft using the escape pods as a base. During the competition to see who gets to go, Fang gives Espio a fake Emerald and takes the purple one for himself, explaining the 8 emeralds. Also, Knuckles meets Espio. Metal Sonic is destroyed by Super Sonic, who destroys the Death Egg Mk. II.) Knuckles Chaotix (Metal Sonic is rebuilt with a new body, and after the events of Sonic 4, Metal grows a little more resentful against Robotnik. Knuckles meets up again with Espio, also meeting Mighty, Charmy, and Vector.) Sonic Mania (A phantom ruby prototype from the future is found by Sonic, Tails, and Robotnik. Metal Sonic is revived thanks to the Phantom Ruby in a new body, with the ones from Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix on his sides during his boss fight.)

here is where mania goes. so mania has knuckles, so it is after 3 and knuckles. it is is also before sonic the hedgehog 4 episode 1. lets take a look. sonic mania HAS metal sonic. now sonic the hedgehog 4 metal sonic also has metal sonic. now, that game is the 6th game in its year. the year before has the same amount of games as that year. what is the 6th game? sonic and knuckles. but mania comes after 3 and knuckles, so there must be a game here (or more) which is longer than usual. and the answer is..... SONIC GENERATIONS!!!!!! so now we can claim that mania is right after 3 and knuckles.

There’s actually a neat way to explain Amy’s age change for Adventure 1, the only real sticking point between it and the past games: Sonic CD could’ve occured *four years before* Sonic 1. The Japanese Sonic 1 manual does state that Sonic and Eggman had battled in the past, and none of the Japanese Mega Drive Sonic manuals state Sonic’s age, plus the absence of the Strike Dash/Super Peel-Out from most other Sonic games could be explained by Sonic having largely abandoned the technique in favor of the Spin Dash. It would also explain Amy’s Adventure 1 line about having previously been on adventures with Sonic. Maybe Amy was Sonic’s first sidekick, but Sonic had to ditch her before he would’ve gone batshit from her advances on him. Unfortunately, today’s Sega didn’t go with that. And because Iizuka is Iizuka, Sonic 3 and S&K would only be canon as separate games. Yes, he actually said that as an explanation for why the Hyper forms went unused after S3&K. This is not a person who should be running any sort of story series. He is an absentminded sub-hack who only occasionally lucks out and hence needs to be fired. Unfortunately, Sega. As for Blaze and Silver, she could’ve ended up time/dimension traveling to ‘06’s future somehow, and he could’ve remained in ‘06’s present after Elise blew out Solaris. Also, I’m surprised at how chill you are with Sonic’s messy plot considering what you have to say about Mortal Kombat even though MK, like Sonic, has a fairly strong and very deliberate mix of jokiness and seriousness. Is it because Sonic is “kids’ stuff”? That shouldn’t prevent one from being able to take a story seriously.

Here's my thoughts on Blaze, Silver, and Eggman Nega: I think Blaze and Nega FIRST met each other in the events of Sonic Rush as a result of them being in Sonic's timeline for whatever reason that may be. At the end of Sonic Rush, I believe Blaze WAS transported to Silver's future but her memory ALSO gained 200 years; meaning even though Sonic 06 took place not too long after Rush, as far as the future Blaze is concerned she hadn't seen Sonic in 200 years which is why he's only vaguely familiar and why they dont interact much in 06. Otherwise, suggesting that she just stayed alive long enough for 200 years would imply there were 2 Blazes. One in the present and one in the future. Other than that, I agree with everything else you said from that point on. As for Silver and Blaze meeting, they clearly met in Colors for the DS and it was even stated they had good chemistry. Now ppl dont wanna say its canon but thats the only way they could meet and be seen comfortably talking to each other in Sonic Generations. So i think DS Colors is canon in terms of their interaction.

I'm pretty sure Sonic CD comes after Sonic 3. Yes, tails isn't with him, but he has the super peel out, a move sonic doesn't know how to do in Sonic 2 and 3. Also, in Sonic 2 and 3, robotnik has other metal Sonics, but they're both inferior to the CD metal sonic. Also, I remember reading something about SEGA saying that it came after... though that last part may be false.

Confirmed by sega it is before sonic 2 end of story. The guy in the video literally explained the entire time line and explained the issue with all the metal sonic's. Use your head and piece it together

+Dreamcast Dazia Except that sega didn't confirmed it to be before Sonic 2 there did confirmed it between Sonic 3 and knuckles and Sonic 4 during its 2011 re-release because one year latter releasing Sonic 4 episode 2 would tie into Cd.

there are indeed three metal sonics. metal 1.0 is the one we see, at CD, 4 episode metal and 2, rivals 2, metal sonic 2.0 is the one we see in rivals 1, heroes, and chaotix and 3.0 is the one we see at rivals 2 final boss.
