[LIVE] Shiny Manaphy after 1,395 eggs hatched in Diamond (Pokemon Ranger)

Completely lost for words even still. Shiny Manaphy after a mere 1,395 eggs hatched. It feels surreal to be uploading this video and typing this description out. The shiny of all shinies honestly. It's such a beautiful, elegant colour as well. I really, really did not think it was going to shine so quickly.
There's a lot to say in this description. I want to start by saying a massive thanks to both Cyal (TheUnderdog2020) & Mark (ShinyHunterSandslash). We've all talked a lot about this hunt for a number of years and even though I'm the final one to get it, I need to acknowledge the motivation that kept us going. You're legends, lads.

Secondly, this hunt was not fun to prepare. In total, I played through 12 copies of Pokemon Ranger and received 8 eggs. It wasn't until we discovered the Ranger Net trick when I was on my 5th playthrough. Shoutout to Cyal for spotting that. I found some cheap copies of Ranger on Ebay, game stores and charity shops. I've since sold them for roughly the same prize but I NEVER want to play through Ranger again. Awful game lol.
Thirdly, this method was super interesting and it stemmed from the idea that if you could reduce the idle time a system has so it's preparing a save file or preparing to receive eggs, it would be better over time. I truly believe this is the "fastest" way to hunt this provided you're able to get the resources. It was an enjoyable hunt that required a lot of attention and if you're genuinely interested in trying this hunt for yourself, please try it. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Also you may note that the date is different (I found it on the 9th). Well due to how RNG works in Gen 4 (and 5 I think) when I was playing two systems at once, on the same date, at the same time, I was hitting the same frame a few times when producing a new save file. I would get the same Trainer ID (and secret ID) across two different games. To counter this, Matt/AbsolBlogsPokemon suggested I have each system on different dates to ensure I wasn't getting save files which were clones of each other. It worked, thanks Matt.
Lastly, I have included an unedited version of the encounter to show legitimacy. There is a detailed explanation as to why I feel it's necessary in this case to avoid any claims of hacking/falsehood. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll do my best to provide you with reassurance provided you're polite or civil.
In order to this method, you'll need 4 copies of Diamond and Pearl (collective), 8 Ranger eggs, 4 systems. I don't wish to claim this as the best method. Best is arbitrary. You may find it more comfortable to hunt using 1 egg or 4 eggs, who knows. Do what you think is best.

Hey guys, there's one thing I forgot to mention that I'm sure people will find odd. Why doesn't it show shiny in the hatch screen? The hatch screen is still representing the Trainer ID and the Secret ID that corresponds to the game it was received from Ranger in (the one that prevents it from being shiny). The summary screen shows the Manaphy as it corresponds to the Trainer ID and the Secret ID of the file it's currently on. @@thekoolkrab3226 You can inject the event with pkhex or you can do the dns glitch like you said but it requires an open network, I would recommend using the hotspot on your phone and put the primary dns as: 164.132.044.106 (MAKE SURE THE DNS IS EXACTLY HOW I WROTE IT) and leave the secondary one blank. After that assuming the connection is successful you should be good to go!

Finally got the opportunity to kick back and watch through all of this. Wow, this hunt is still so insane looking, even with this more efficient looking method. Watching the shiny appear legitimately made me jump, so I can't imagine how mushy your brain was feeling when it happened!! You still managed to put out super coherent commentary with some great points even in your mushbrain state LOL. Really glad that my date change advice helped you out in some way on this journey! Also loved how you took it on a tour of 4th gen with PBR and HGSS! Weird that the walking sprite looks so not shiny. Anyway, congrats again, man, unbelievable to see the three of y'all across the pond all complete this hunt, and I hope to see more brave souls take it on someday! I was so inspired by this that I decided to do the Manaphy egg mission on the only copy of Pokemon Ranger I have, and it looks like I have the egg!! This will go much slower for me but to hunt this legitimately is going to be so exciting. Edit: I was able to redeem the Manaphy egg with the ranger net visible, the game had been played through just enough. Though you're right in that most likely it'll be impossible to redeem the egg with it showing otherwise.

Ranger Net can be available without them taking the egg. I picked two up that had it, but they never put in the code for it. If they have the Ranger Net, that means they beat the game and most likely got the egg, OR they did the bonus mission such as the Mew one.

@@jamshush Once you unlock Ranger Net, it's unlocked for the entire cartridge, not just the save file. If it isn't unlocked it's guaranteed that the egg is there. If it's unlocked you have to specifically check if it's there or not. To get the egg you need Ranger Net to be unlocked and you need to enter a very specific code "P8M2-9D6F-43H7 " (US code). It's extremely unlikely that someone comes across this, and in this day, they probably wouldn't have a Gen 4 game to redeem it. I went through 6 carts and 4 had the egg, two having Ranger Net unlocked already.

I got myself Shiny Manaphy a few months ago using RNG abuse in Heart Gold, took a few hours to get everything correctly.

you can RNG abuse a shiny manaphy? how does that work?

@@miaberra9176 You RNG abuse in front of the guy the distributes events in the Poke Mart (preferably in HGSS in Cerulean city). You then use your DS clock to reach the correct seed on the correct frame (of your 2nd game). Once you reach it, you advance frames to reach the desired frame you want from Manaphy. Once you reach that, you get the egg and trade it to your 2nd game. Look up a guide on KZbin
