The original ZV-E10 seemed like a life hack. The price was the most important factor in this. Version 2 is better but too expensive. It is a marketing gateway to the A6700. And when you end up buying the A6700, you pay almost three times the price of the original ZV-E10.

Sony a6700 is so horrible! Like as E10 II. The Sony a6700 overheats three times faster than the E10 with the same settings. In addition, the Sony a6700 has terrible strap fasteners that are audible when recording video. I didn't hear this from any blogger until I bought this misunderstanding a6700. Oh, yes, thank you very much to the bloggers for concealing significant flaws.

@@veganjackbauer2154 I know the full frame cameras like the a74 have markedly better 1080p, but those are pretty expensive and may be pretty overkill to buy that just for 1080p streaming, especially since streaming software is likely to compress the video feed for the network anyway. You'll probably be fine streaming with the ZV I reckon, I think what suffers the most from the relatively poor 1080p is high detail scenes like dense foliage or complex scenery.

Great video. I just got the ZV1-e10 Mark II being an owner of the previous version for over a Year and a half. Right away with the kit lens the Mark II does a much better job. It is noticeable, both day light and low light.

Damn, I remember watching your videos some years ago at the launch of the zv-e10. Now I've heard the mark 2 is coming, so i was searching for it, and again I am here on your channel. And I still love your videos! Really great detailed review with the most important things I WAS LOOKING FOR. Your content is an enrichment for KZbin. This camera is a great release. Finally 4k 60, less rolling shutter, new touch screen menu, usb-c 3.2 with 4k usb-c streaming and hevc/10bit recording. Great. They are fixing the most annoying things of the first ZV-E10. BUT still no IBIS? Yes, the can cut the price pretty well with this decision. 1100€ launch price is a good value. Especially compared to the 1800€ of the alpha 6700. But common Sony, THIS IS A VLOG CAMERA. Vloggers need a good stabilization! And not with these big crops. You are still recommending Catalyst Browse, but I still think it's not a comfortable Software in the free version. Because as vlogger you capture like 40 shots per video. Then you need to manually put each one through catalyst browse is nasty. I don't like this. Right now I could get the Alpha 6700 body for 1200€. And the zv-e10 ii body für 1100€. I am really thinking about not going to full frame and just buying one of these to replace my ZV-E10. Because 4k60FPS is pretty important for me. I really want to have this. And maybe, if I also want to do some Vlogs, the Alpha 6700 is probably the better choice for picture quality. But it's heavier. What do you think?

if the a6700 os only 100 euro more - I would get the a6700 It's still a really small lightweight camera. If going full frame the ZV-E1 is excellent as is the A7C II

Mark, your vids led me to the ZVE10... I love this camera. From there, I bought an A6700 for myself, and have been outfitted with an FX30 for work. I really think I'll be upgrading to the mkII because I use the above mentioned for 3 camera shoots, and having the same sensor in both the A6700 and FX30 has made colour grading so easy (plus, I love the 10 bit). Having the mkII will make it even easier.

Mark, you have the ninja walk down perfectly! If I walk with my original ZV-E10 and the 11mm, the outer 25% of the background looks like jello due to the rolling shutter. I just bought the A6700 and it's completely doable with the combo of IBIS and active stab. One thing i have to figure out is vlogging with two people, like many people do in a travel vlog. I find that a lot of th time with the 11mm, my son and I still end up on the edges of the frame and our faces get barrell distorted.

The zv-e10ii and the zv-e10 set white balance the same way (like all new sony cameras) you press the white balance button and a square appears and you press the enter dial and it's set. You can also move this square around the frame

You'll notice a big difference with how much bigger the sensor is to let in that light. The 11mm will also give you a lot more in your framing as well so you should be very happy with that combo

As for the mark II as you pointed out it has nice upgrades and (for me) an important downgrade which is the lack of a mechanical shutter. Hi Mark, a quick question. I have ZV-E10 and I am using it with kit lens and I am considering about replacing it with either Sigma 16mm F1.4 or Sigma 18-50 F2.8 but I couldn't decided yet. We have small DIY youtube channel that we take ONLY videos. There is a person and a table visible in frame, showing how to do stuff. Which lens would you recommend for that situation? We have 2x Godox SL60 lights, recording in an indoor studio. My first thought was picking the 16mm but I'm not sure I can go as low as F1.4 because I need wide focus and I have proper lights. Neither zv-e10 has the Ai chip, so the autofocus isn’t a downgrade on the new mark ii. In fact, the autofocus is a bit better.

It depends on your budget! ZV-E10 mark 1 can be found for $500 with kit lens if you look around enough. The mark 2 is around $1000 in comparison. If you have and are willing to spend that much money, I would look around for the a6700 used for around $1200. It would give you a much better experience and is a true hybrid for photography and videography!

Well, I'm back to watching the most joyful camera guru after spending too much time on the circus in my country, The U.S. Capitol. Points I got from your video. 1. New ZV-E10 mk. ii is a step up from the mk. i. The cost makes the little Dugi, Duggi, Dougy so very attractive. If I was getting more serious about video, then I would jump to the ZV-E1, which I bought. It blows my mind. Get it when on sale. 2. Missing shutter will be missed. 3. Where is the AI chip????? Considering the new camera is using many off-the-shelf parts at the Sony factory, I would think a price of $898 is far attractive than $999, which is really One Thousand Dollars. That sounds brutal. 4. Your positive spirit is so welcome considering what is going on in the world and even compared to other KZbinrs. Keep smiling and being positive. 5. Good that Sony gave it the larger batter and better grip. Very positive. 6. Kit lens looks much better, sleek. A worth addition for only $100. Now that I have run through my cameras chasing praying mantis bugs on my trees, the a6700 is still the best camera Sony has ever made. Thats why I call it a magical camera. Just my opinion.

It’s rare anyone ever ‘needs’ to upgrade any camera from the last 5 years or so. That said, new features may add marginal value, or make some things easier. However, there is also a condition called GAS that often needs to be fed! All that said, I did tend to prefer the video from version ii slightly (!) more (did you use subliminal messaging or hypnosis ). Little Dougie (original) continues to impress and IMO would still meet the needs of many folks for video…might actually be better for photographers in some cases. . Version ii a great camera though and many of the improvements add value for video creators. Well done video Mark!

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Kit lens are very good for video, they have OIS, zoom, auto focus and I am quite impressed that they are very good for video, Video from it looks better than any smartphone :). Even with kit lens :). That is crazy. The details are crazy. Yes you could get even better sharper results or low light power with more expensive lens but for video during the day they are amazing. And even cropped 30 FPS is crazy sharp. And with less rolling shutter.

I'm really jealous of S-Cinetone capable cameras. I have a 7R III myself, so the ZV-E10 is quite a different category of a camera, but I wish I had this Cinetone profile on mine, too :D I tried it on the new Xperia 1 VI and it was just instant love for me. ;D they did a very good job on this.

what about 4k/60 overheating? Also the audio is really the best in this price range? I have 5100 also and just love the audio quality! No distorsion, nice frequency response and its all automatic. But with my zv-e10 i got horrible audio, no low frequency, sounds totally bad compared to 5100. And i always have to set the gain when i go from low volume scene to a concert for example. I dont know why Sony made this change in zve10 and curious if zve10 mark2 will have the same beautiful, rich audio like my a5100. thanks

I don’t have the a5100, so I can’t compare the two. The audio is good to my ears for the zv-e10ii. 4k60 will overheat after about 40 mins to an hour.

16:50 well, one thing summarizes it all. Rolling shutter renders the Mark-II as useless for any kind of work that is remotely professional, or serious. If you get banding in your video/Pictures, or jellow effect and so on,, whta is the point of buying a camera? Just use your phone. Thanks Mark, for another lovely piece of information. I wouldn’t bother with the mark II. I would prefer to save my dollars for a couple more months and get the better camera in the a6700, but that’s mostly because I need an EVF

ZV-E10 II is really an improved camera, but it is too bad that there is a 2 times price difference between ZV-E10 and ZV-E10 II. You can buy two ZV-E10 for the price of one ZV-E10 II in Germany.

I'm using the zve10 ii for photos and videos but also use it to stream with my ? what's the right way to charge it I have a good usb c cable but I'll leave it plugged in all night and It'll only be at 50% on the battery am I doing something wrong also I have it plugged right into an wall outlet. thanks.

Sorry I missed this comment. Try using the USBC cable that came with Your ZV-E10ii. The one your using must be incompatible.

I'm sorry to bother you, im a new subscriber. I want to just say im new at this, I've used camcorders and cellphones in the past to make videos. I'm 49 years old and want something dependable for recording and taking pictures of my grandchildren. I took for granted not taking many pics of my children. I want to invest and try to vlog my experience in truck driving and other things. I was just about to purchase with no problem the E10 2. But after reading the comments, I'm leaning towards 6700. What so you think. Since I'm new at photography and video making what would be a FRIENDLY camera or easier to learn? Thank you , your opinion will be very important.

the a6700 is a more well rounded camera for photos and videos. it sounds like the one for you. That evf is very helpful for photos

Thank you, I'm just afraid that the 6700 might be to advance for me, especially when I try to hold an object up to the screen and it doesn't focus on the object. Maybe start small, I just don't know. I'm just afraid that 6700 will not be user friendly, hell I'm thinking both, maybe. I guess I'll sleep on it and watch more videos to just be sure. Thank you very much for your help.
