This isnt exaggerated at all, i was like this in grade 7 for about 2 months. I was obsessed with nymph from heavens lost property, a small girl with blue twin tails and a gigantic collar with a bomb inside of it ready to go off right next to the main character to kill her. You have to assume, based on the one where the kid says he went out to recess, that he is about the same age as I was. I got to the part where you start theorizing if your waifu exists in another reality. Nothing past that though, i never owned a body pillow, though im asian so its not abnormal for me to like anime and stuff. Most of these guys are probably fat and white with an asian fetish sadly. These guys have actual mental illness most likely, I just adored the way the character looked an acted, which legitimately shaped my taste for women later in life. But yeah, this shit actually happens and is real, I have first hand experience, and anime conventions i go to have a few people there who are like this but are well into their 20s.

I think my age group is the one that's popularizied nerd culture. I'm 24, but there's too much damn "new" stuff targeting my age group with my older brothers and sisters. 80s nostalgia is super high right now for some reason and a lot of movies and shows have tried to cater to that. For my age group in particular, Pixar has realized if they make squeals that appeal to us, their movie is bound to make a ton of money. Reason why we have an Incredibles 2 movie freaking 14 years after the first one AND a Toy Story 4 movie coming out that's bound to succeed.
