When my mother was living my brother loved to have her fry chicken wings in the butter crisco. She made the best corn pudding. May she rest in paradise. I've tired but can't get it to turn out like hers so I've stopped trying. I'm a very good cook and can't duplicate her cooking 👍🏽 except for her corn pudding & candied yams

I turn 30 this Thanksgiving. Baked Mac n Cheese was one of my favorite side dishes. When I make it, I use Rigatoni. Sharp Cheddar. Evaporated milk. Eggs. The cheese, milk, and eggs come together and congeal into a kind of curdled cheese. It fills the rigatoni. Absolutely delicious.

Another great video. I will definitely make the Gumbo greens, been wanting to try this one for a while now and you recipe looks good. I want to try the cornbread as well. It all looks so good. Thanks again for sharing these recipes and teaching me more about Soulfood cooking. I grew up in small Cajun town with blacks, whites and Chochatta Indians in Elton Louisiana and the blacks and whites cooking were similar, not many rich people in the town, just all simple hard working people. It was a wonderful place to live.

Quiche, creamed corn and rice and gungu peas were my faves, especially together. We'd usually have a mix of American and Jamaican foods for Sunday dinner, and it was always SO good. Quiche was made with less custard, more veggies and cheese... We always had one corn and broccoli and one spinach and mushroom, both with cheddar and Swiss cheeses... Sometimes my youngest Auntie would bring her crab quiche. That was always a special treat. 😋 Miss those days. The flour hack tho!!! Game changer! I've done it for sugar, but never thought about flour. Thanks for the tip! I'm so hungry rn. 🤣
