How is he playing rhythm in that odd time signature and singing perfectly at the same time??

Saw them live at the Wiltern in LA when they first reformed, I think it was their first LA show in many many years. They played for nearly 3 hours, went in liking a few of their songs, left a huge fan.

Wow I finally get to have one of those I was there moments! I was there. I found the Soundgarden performance was a bit flat because it was a long exhausting process. Basically you are told to meet up at a bar around the corner mid afternoon about 2-3 hours before you go to the theatre. You get a bit pissed. Then they walk you all around to the theatre and they wrangle everyone into their seats like a stock yard. If you're like me you're a bit pissed and need to hit the bathroom. If you have to go to the bathroom you lose your seat in the downstairs section and have to go sit upstairs. So all the slightly pissed people in party mode wind up upstairs. The show takes a long time, there's a lot of warming up with Dave and there's a few re-takes, not many. The show band are on fire and the interval in the middle is really full on jammin. By the time Soundgarden came on stage you're a several hours in and before Soundgarden play they need to re-configure everything. The vibe is lost a bit in that time and the music and lighting is very different to the carnival atmosphere up till that point. It's a bit of a jolt in scene and they come off looking a bit too angsty and far too serious in comparison. The show band was a hard and very different act to follow. The party people were upstairs out of shot. My wife and I met a nice out-of-town couple as we we're leaving and we invited them across the street for Japanese. 6 months later we were divorced. I am writing this comment from a converted house bus in New Zealand. Thousands of things have happened since that night and I am almost a totally different person now. I'm glad for the travel and experiences like this one but I'm tired and accept that certain things pass with age. Its an amazing thing to be able to watch that performance again. They are all of them immortal.

It wouldn't be worth it bro. Even though they were (and are) my favorite band,I saw them in 1998 at "Underground Atlanta" in their farewell tour, it lasted about an hour and a half and then it was over(until I listened to "Bad Motorfinger" on the way home!) True Dat, the audience should have been replaced by real fans...like us!😉

They never called themselves "Grunge", that's what the mainstream pop culture and the wrag mahazines labled them as.They would have rather catergorized themselves as a Rythm & Blues genra. Grunge would be like: Neil Young, Mud Honey, Grunt Truck, Skinny Puppy and Nirvana!
