"When judges refuse to demand respect in their courtroom," Respect is earned, not demanded. Letting the woman talk over him is something most judges won't stand for, but those judges get angry and start handing out contempt charges that would theoretically end in years of jailtime, which they later have to undo because it's not sane to give a person a year of jailtime for not shutting up when etiquette says they should. This judge lets her do her thing and shot the world what kind of person she is, *while* giving her suitable punishment. Yes I know, most people want her to be in jail for years, but do you honestly think that's going to make things better? Do you think she'll drop the sovcit thing because of jailtime? Murderers don't stop murdering because they've been to jail, and they risk getting killed there... What she needs is psychiatric help because although you all love to hate her because of your stupid "everybody should survive by themselves" mentality, what she's doing is not how healthy brains work. If you want this to stop you're going to have to HEKLP them, not lock them up and pretend you did anything.

If they get more aggressive, the judge will get more aggressive. Giving them some leeway to display the absurdity of their position is a reasonable approach. I'd rather a system full of judges who err on the side of patience, than ones that hand out overly large sentences for small offenses. We've seen it, judges who give out a month of jail time for things as small as laughing in court. It's not a better system. A bit of patience doesn't hurt, knowing that if things do escalate, the court will always win out.
