I do not know if he believed it or not. I have a feeling that the biggest purpose of this whole thing was just the chance to get out of the jail cell for awhile. I sat on an escape trial for a convict from the state pen. Day 1 was jury select and opening remarks. Day two and the morning of day three was all the prosecutor and his long line of witnesses to show the defendant had been convicted of a crime, transported to prison, entered into the prison population, had escaped while being transported for health checkup, captured running loose, and returned to the prison. The defense attorney asked for lunch break before he began, which the judge honored. We returned from lunch, the judge asked defense council to state his case, and the defense attorney arose and said, "The defense rests it's case your Honor". Yep! A vacation from the pen!

If my job was to be a court reporter, it certainly would not have lasted long. They would have drug me out of there laughing and kicking uncontrollably. My contempt fine would have been ridiculously high. They need to go back to using old terms like retarded or Paddy wagon or CRAZY instead of trying to spare people's feelings cause it ain't going to change nuthin.

Mike….about midway through all the word salad, which I like to think of as jabberwocky, I started hearing buzzzzzzzzzzz. No more word salad, just zzzzz. The judge has the patience of a saint to allow this man to keep droning on and on. Aaaand onnnnn! Btw, I just found your channel yesterday, having seen my first Sovereign Citizen videos two days ago. It’s so intriguing to me how this ‘ideology’ has come to be a ‘belief’ system but comes off as a way to break laws, some are traffic tickets no less, with the intent to escape responsibility, accountability and consequences. Great commentary too, Mike!

Kidding aside, it's hard to think of anything more legitimately tyrannical than "equating silence with an agreement". That really is, like, Ceausescu-caliber tyranny. Genuinely unsettling.

The maxim is "Qui tacet consentit": the maxim of the law is "Silence gives consent". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Silence_and_consensus. IDK how the defendent was trying to construe it, but there is a maxim of law concerning "silence is acquiescence" although undoubtedly that can be misconstrued in all kinds of strange ways...
