I was born in 97 and I've known this song since I was a kid. I know a lot of the 60s, 70s,, 80s and 90s and certain older songs I'll never get sick of no matter how many times I hear them. Like take Slade for example my grandad loves them so I've known their music since I was little and I never get sick of them even though I've heard them hundreds of times but I always turn the music loud and sing along and they always cheer me up because it reminds me of growing up so they always make me happy I apologise about the bad grammar and spelling as well sorry

Spandau ballet are a British group from the 80s one of many bands from the UK that were massive hits around the world. The song here TRUE was written by Gary Kemp in his teenage years as a leading band member a tribute to Motown artist Melvin Gaye the whole tempo and style was there signature sound Melvin is mentioned in the song the guitar player his twin brother is on the Drums they have never done a cover song they were in there day far too talented check out one of there other big hits ""beyond the barricades ""😁👍

Besides Gold charting in the top 40 This was Spandau Ballet’s highest chart entry on the US billboard hot 100 reaching number 4 in early 1983 and are very much considered a ‘one hit wonder’ in the states compared to their much greater success in Europe and their native UK where TRUE reached the Top of the charts. As a fan of Tony Hadley and Spandau it’s great to see so many of these reaction videos and this timeless song being given the recognition it deserves.

Gary and Martin Kemp we’re sued by the other 3 members of Spandau after a disagreement in song royalties, Tony, John and Steve lost the case and Gary Kemp pretty much earns most of the royalties as he was the song writer for many of their greatest songs including being the songwriter for TRUE.

When the Spandau's first appeared, their lead singer was sporting tartan and the group was riding the frayed coat-tails of synthesizer-pop. But when you sound like Tony Hadley, blue-eyed soul is obviously the direction you should go in! Part of the movement dubbed 'The New Romantics', their lifespan was actually pretty short but lives on in nostalgia.

As to the name of the band the lead singer was in a club in Berlin and saw "Welcome to the Spandau Ballet" written on the wall and liked it and the band changed their name to it. After WWII Nazi prisoners were held in Spandau prison in Berlin and British soldiers called hanging Nazis going to the Spandau Ballet because of the way their feet would kick while hanging. The band didn't know what it meant but liked the way it sounded so they used it for their name.

The Lead Singer was also in the Video. Another Member Martin Kemp would later act on The UK Soap Opera Eastenders where he played Steve Owen. His Wife is Shirley Holiman who was The Blond Haired Lady in Wham. Also they pay homage to Marvin Gaye that other Singers of done like Elton John, Maze (Featuring Frankie Beverly), The Commodores (Sans Lionel Richie) and Diana Ross and Bobby Brown.
