The key words here are empathy and being strategic. Also, I think it's important to note that it's not that the children are slow in learning but it's a learning disability where they find it challenging identifying or recognising speech sounds to form words. So such a child will be good at figures, addition, subtraction, etc but find it difficult solving the simplest form of addition in a word problem. Their educators also have to be very observant to avoid cramming instead of learning.
