Killer solo!!.. really like the addition of understanding the 3 scale positions, provides so much more understanding behind it rather than just learning the solo by string/fret etc.. loved the cool little edit capture transformation to ‘Classical Guitar’.. also great piece for improving technique, especially bends.. big fan as you know of all the lessons, production quality is first class..

Hey Sped! Your song tutorials are second to none, for a few reasons too. You don’t try and rush through it like I see so many do, so it’s a lot easier to just get it! By the way, how do like that SE? My friend had bought his son a PRS SE in hopes he’d play and keep it up. Anyhow I plugged it in and checked it out, I couldn’t believe how nice it felt and sounded. Way back when I was real young they really built crap unless you spent considerably more money. Today these guitars play so beautifully in just about any price category, they’ve really come a long way!

I have learned this solo years ago, however , I was never able to play it cleanly thru the quick hammer-on, pull -off parts during the middle of the lead. So this will be learning it proper and confidently flowing thru the entire lead. You just did "Rain Song" and I am still not totally hands down proper with that one yet. So this little ditty is a welcome lesson to switch between tunes. Keep `em comin Sped

Great job Sped. I’ve learned more about scales patterns etc from watching your videos in the past few months than all the years I’ve been playing. I taught myself how to play bass by watching my friend play in bars. That guy happens to be Billy Sheehan. Respect Sped’s authorita! Quick question…. Since this in E flat, is there any benefit to just tuning down 1/2 step a la SRV?
@SpedSpedding3 жыл бұрын
I would say the only benefit would be string tension. I actually think Brian uses 8’s? I’m not using any open strings so no problem. Depends whether you want a dot on your root note or not. 😂

@@SpedSpedding Brian's red special has a scale length of only 24 inches. This means a lower tension than either Fender or Gibson standards which helps with the bends.
