Hey Van! Love your reviews and have been watching them for years. Im finally going to be getting a FZ-07 and I am looking for a great armor vest and lid. Im thinking about getting the Icon Alliance Gt Operator helmet and a Icon Stryker vest. The vest will either be Hi- Viz yellow or battlescar. My questions are, are these a good combination of gear ? Is there something better out there for my money? what other gear would you suggest? Thanks in advance!

Icon makes solid gear, the items you are interested in are both good IMO. Icon helmets are some of the best out there at their price points, I have several and love them. - Van

My only concerns are: 1. It would suck to crash with a sidearm dragging on the asphalt, or pressing violently into ribs or soft organs. 2. How secure is the sidearm in the holster? Can it be easily grabbed away, and what's the likelihood of it falling out in a crash situation?

scout3058 concern #1 is why I don't carry when I ride :(.

U_Wot_m7+1 I've done it, but only while riding to work, in full uniform. Everyone stayed far away from me, because who wants to hit a cop, right? Also, folks would drive very carefully, I guess because they though I'd pull them over (on my sport bike). Even then, I wasn't comfortable because the thought of crashing and losing, or damaging, my sidearm was terrible.
