I don't know, I don't box. I'm a frustrated drummer trying to get a workout. Boxers use the speed bag for their own purposes, and I use if for mine. Elbow strikes however are very useful in self defense and martial arts. The user defines how they chose to use the equipment. Some people drive their car to get groceries, some people drive them to win races. The cars don't chose how they are used, and neither does the speed bag.

Been punching for a few years before seeing what Alan Kahn brought to the table. Amazing and motivating, in a few weeks of watching 5 min clips on KZbin I’ve already been able to incorporate a few more moves to my routine with out any help from other outside sources. These include forward and reverse double punches 5-1 and 3-3 combos, I cannot wait for my copy of the speedbag bible written by Alan to come in the mail. Extremely excited and motivated to learn more. Thank you

For boxing, speed bag helps you work on your hand speed, timing and reflexes. And being able to play a song on one has the added bonus of making you a complete badass.

I can see Alan telling his wife, "See Honey, I broke a bag. That is why I need those 50 spar speed bags I have all around the house." Your new combinations blow right by me. I didn't think it was possible that there was a combo you never did before. Great hitting as always. Enjoyed it.

@speedbag13 жыл бұрын
not nearly as much as you think. a few months to learn the techniques how combinations are created. then you begin to play with the sounds of the bag beat and time it to music. Some baggers start punch drumming pretty well in a few months.
