I tried your technique this afternoon and was able to do it within 15 minutes, I am slow but now that I am doing it correctly I am sure I can speed up. Keeping my hands and elbows up was the key to success. ( and not trying to loop my hand up and under the bag. )

I have been watching speed bag videos for the past month and this is by far the best one I have come across. I have been trying to figure out how to hit the bag from the front and then the back and this clearly shows how that is done. I am going to work on this and try and get it right. Thanks for posting this video.

MrR - do not worry about thinking fast enough, or moving fast enough to do this. Start slowly. Every combination in this video can be done (and should be learned...) very slowly. Control is the key, not speed. Once you gain control of the movements at slow speeds, you will get faster without trying. My best wishes for your training!

Glad it helped. Secret it bag belly height at chin or mouth to allow fist to make contact ON BELLY (not above) and pass through bag in straight line. Bag is on board when fist gets behind it, so no need to duck fist "under" bag. when bag comes off board, fist is already out of the way behind bag. than pull it straight back to chin. works every time!. sideways also. Good luck.

@tubesockets120v10 жыл бұрын
The position of the feet isn't mentioned. Do I place my feet so toes are in a straight line, or is the left foot out slightly more than the right foot in the case of a conventional boxing stance? In other words, is my boxing stance (I'm a rightie) my speedbag stance?
@speedbag19 жыл бұрын
+tubesockets120v Sorry I missed your comment tubesockets. The answer is Yes AND no. Most of the time the feet are parallel about shoulder width apart, and you are facing full front forward. This is not a "fighting stance" but it puts the arms and fists in a position where they are equal distance to the bag, so neither fist has to travel farther to the bag. That is how most people hit the speed bag. Obviously it is not a boxing stance, but you CAN use the normal boxing stance if you want, and use footwork moving around to the right and left to the wall and back. Key to this is understanding that the fists are not together and the distances they most travel is not equal. The back fist (under your chin) is further from the bag, so you it will change the timing and distance. It will be more difficult to keep that bag going at a equal rate of high speed, because your repetitive punches are moving with different forces and distance. hope this helps.

If you knew anything about this him, you'd know he's not a boxer. He's just a professional speed bagger who's been doing it for over 35 years. His methods are to make it easier to advanced combinations way beyond the ones any boxer does, or needs to do. If you're looking for how to use a speedbag in relation to boxing, you need to look elsewhere. This is a different ball game.

+Angel Flores I got this platform from primefighter-dot-com and I also recommend the ibox model wall platform from BalazsBoxing-dot-com. I like the wall units that have two vertical wall mounts. there are some system that only use one center mount but I think they vibrate too much.

Hi I just wanted to know if the inflation of the bag impacts on its speed and should there be more or less air in the bag. And could you give me any more tips on how to make it faster.
@speedbag110 жыл бұрын
Yes, the inflation of the bag very definitely impacts the bag speed. The more air there is, the fast it will go. However.... there is a point to which too much air (over-inflation) will make the bag very hard, like punching a brick, and it can also bust or explode a seam. Punch a very hard, overinflated bag can also injury your hands, so I suggest blowing it up and leaving a little "give" in the leather. Less air will make the bag a bit slower, but will also give you a bit more control. Hope this helps.
