I like this format but I love the other format. I like watching the excitement, the kids and Max walking in and of course the goof ups we all do in the kitchen. You make cooking real!

Looks so yummy! I'm gonna try this for dinner later. The new video format is great but I think I like the old one better. It's livelier, more fun to watch, and your personality shines through the most, I think, when you're talking whilst cooking.

Looks delish! I do enjoy your other format better, but also need to add-love seeing pans that have been used and aren’t brand new looking!

Old format is way better. That made it feel a lot more energetic, seeing you actually cook in the kitchen. This feels more like a news report

This new format is in itself good, but I kinda missed you! I missed your excitement while you cook, your face expressions, the ups and downs in your speach. This doesn't feel like Donal to me. It didn't excite me enough to try it. Sorry! P.s.: I love your recipes. Tomorrow I'm cooking our favourite one, your seafood chowder. 🥰

Donal, greetings from Southern California! We miss you! I love your videos. I do want to say that I prefer the ones in which you are cooking. I love the home-cook style. This one is a little too polished if you take my meaning. But I love it all the same!

Congrats on the new book Donal, I'll grab a copy off Amazon! I'll definitely give this recipe a go (but with rice!), and might try adding some green beans & small broccoli florets for extra vegies.

Wow this is gorgeous we just had it for our tea (dinner) and the family loved it!!! We had to add a pepper instead of a chilli, as our daughter doesnt like the heat and it was still amazing. This is the second lovely meal that I have made from your recipes and I will make this one again with chicken, also doing the harissa stew later this week. Many thanks x

I've always wanted to become more adept at Asian cooking but I've always been a bit intimidated by it. However, this looks like a wonderful recipe to start with!

Yes, same here! It feels scary almost to try and understand different ingredients, how to work them and how to make them shine. I guess both of us need to stop being so silly and give it a go. :)

I rather like the new format...it's more conversational and less "frantic". Of course, I don't really cook much and don't watch this channel as a launch pad to cook any particular recipe. I enjoy you and your recipes and your family etc. I will say that this felt as though your kiddos were napping and you were trying to deliver a video without waking any babies...ha ha! But I did like it. And, the dish looked delicious.

Hi there like the recipe a lot - however I’m not fond of the format- I like seeing you cook and talk- you have a lot more tips on this one and reasons for the whys of cooking but I didn’t find this format compelling. I would stay with your other format and fill it with more information as you cooked like this one. Great recipe bud.

@gerardacronin3343 жыл бұрын
Love the recipe. Not sure about this format. The closeups are good for demonstrating technique, but the whole thing comes across as rather soulless. The passion, fun and general chaos that I come here for is missing.

Satay is supposed to be using sticks and you burn it on coals.

Like the format. For me personally I'd like the camera pulled back slightly. I find videos so tightly focused in on the pan make my eyes feel a bit odd. The scene feels a bit too busy for me......something like that anyway. I am making this tomorrow so thanks for the recipe.

Carrot is needed in satay imo, it's so sweet it's so nice in satay sauce 😋. BTW this style feels disconnected, I prefer your other way of cooking vids :).

Asian here and that’s not satay tho… that is some western “satay” that can’t be found anywhere in south east Asia.
@tammyshui3 жыл бұрын
It would have been fine to just say you made grilled pork noodles with peanut sauce inspired by satay. Naming this dish satay was a real abomination and also did not make grammatical sense. The bar is really low for colonizers huh? No one minds self promotion, like congrats on your book, but there was a real disconnection here
@lawngaiyi3 жыл бұрын
I think that the satay I used to eat often that was made in Hong Kong used various dried spices and did not use milk. But I stopped using that satay after finding out that it's not vegan. Any who, my mind does not really function right when I see .. .. .. 😨 corpse*! ~ .. 😅
