One thing you need to understand is that the sun isn’t just a big burning fireball, it is more like that the sun is a big engine, using hydrogen as its fuel and then turning it into energy. When you add water into the sun it won’t put it out, instead it will only give the sun more hydrogen to burn thus making it able to burn longer and hotter.
