This viewer-submitted game starts out pretty normal for 1000 elo players, but quickly turns into one of the most ridiculous games I've ever seen.

so i was a huge noob until quite recently and I think as a noob you often commit to something that succeeded once. Red took out 99% of blue economy with eagles, so he kept making them. To a noob taking out enemy TC is basically a win, I think that's why he held on to them so much

some people seem to think Eagles are unstoppable very good units, when in reality I find them very mediocre. Also I never understand why people don't build more trash mid-early game. Red and blue sometimes had 1500+ food and wood stockpiled, they were waiting for gold. Why not pump out some Skirms and Pikes as a meatshield to protect your better army? This is why I like the new Persian tech as if you are pushed off your gold, as long as you have wood coming in you can pump out Xbows and use that valuable gold for knights

@@OzMuGu he means the Supremacy tech of the Spanish. Villagers get +40hp, +6 attack, and +2/+2 armour. Incas with their blacksmith techs will only get +4 attack and +3/+4 armour, but without the extra hit points - also at a much greater cost but having some of the bonuses earlier on. I now want to see a Spanish vs Incas game, no military, villagers only.

I really liked seeing things pointed out without judgement or harshness, ultimately I know that I'd probably make a lot of the same decisions as these players. Especially camping my base with an army when there's a 5 minute window to just win the game... Classic.

It's frustrating to see that red could have won EASILY if he had taken the time to destroy the Temple, denying all gold (and military) for his opponent :/ At some point there is nobody in Blue's base and Red have like 6 or 8 EWarrior around. 30 seconds of attack would have won him the game ez.

Also, Red *really* screwed it with the unit counters. The mangonels were good, but otherwise they were sending units that were easily taken out by Blue's Samurais and later 2h swordmen, making them unable to put all their extra economy into a viable army. That, and being scared into not attacking earlier

yes I tend to see this a lot, even in pro games. One team has a large army, is positioned right outside the enemy base, and the enemy town is completely undefended. Yet the guy on top never pushes an attack? instead they just waste time plinking at outlying buildings. I guess it's the fog of war and fear of losing your army stopping them from sending in their army and winning? I've watched so many games where pros were just too timid, they never pushed an attack, and they gave their opponent the time they needed to recover. Or I've seen many games where a player will pull off a good attack, take out an enemies defensive army, leaving the enemy town ripe for conquest. Yet the attacking player never follows this up? You'd think he would be building units during the attack to push forward? I also wonder why some times, people who have 1500+ spare food/wood, and plenty of spare pop (say in Mid Castle age) - why don't they pump out some trash as a meatshield? Pump out some skirms for enemy crossbows, and some light cav to dissuade Mangonel attacks. I always see pros going for a massively gold heavy army but leaving themselves massively vulnerable to mangonels/archers when 10 trash units would do the job just fine.

Guys please dont forget, these are not pros. The “a pro would do x“ is not really a fair argument. I think they played very well and did their best. It is very easy to be stressed out in such games. Being nervous and doing everything in the same time, trying not to lose. All I want to say is, that they can be proud of that game. Both players learnt a lot, Im sure. It was a very close and action packed game. High quality AOE if you ask me.

If I may, I'd like to give some constructive feedback: 1. In a low/mid ELO game like this, tie what we're seeing back to basic concepts. Many of us watch your channel to learn so comment on how these players could improve (you did do this sometimes, to be fair). 2. You have a very calming, even voice. While you're certainly not monotone, you would benefit from changing your voice's pitch, intonation, speed, and volume at times to help maintain viewer attention. There are many different ways to do this so just find speaking techniques that fit your style. Thank you for posting this video. I look forward to watching more.

Making samurai precludes the Aztec player making Jags, though. I think the Aztec player should've invested more in champions, they're created a lot faster and trade more favorably with japanese swordsmen and samurai. Just making arbs would've worked as well. The japanese player might then feel forced into skirms or cavalry. Aztec skirms are better, and Japanese cavalry isn't super great against archers.

@@urabraskthedeplorable725 Yeah, Aztecs should win hard obviously. Never make Eagles against a civ with great champions. Also, there's very little gold on Hideout so never go for an eagle comp. He should've gone for onagers + arbalests/skirmishers. Nothing Japanese can do.

can't wait for your another low elo series. I like your casting better because you did not bully the player, a bit chuckle doesn't matter, but you give calm commentary and better explanation on how to be better player.

This barrack! never going down XD I think it did a lot by having a point midmap where to replenish your troops during the late part of the game

One of the most ridiculous games I've ever seen, and I must say after a whole day of playing super bad, losing, tilting etc. seeing the level of these guys did really well to my morale, so thanks :)

Red could have won. Should have attacked at 14:40 when had all his military standing around. And 19:30 when he chopped through the woodline he should have dropped a castle right there.

Thanks for showing this. I am still learning and I can tell that like most other games, MP is the place to be, if you want to become better, fast(er).
