Corey Taylor is the most underrated singer/songwriters of our generation only because he doesn't play mainstream pop. The lyrics and delivery are so complex, deep, and emotion without having to hide it beneath a thesaurus is amazing. From his solo stuff, to Stone Sour, to Slipknot, I urge anyone to just read the lyrics out of the catalogues and see the greatness this man has been giving us for over 30 years. A true genius and living masterclass that I fear the last three generations will appreciate far too late.

My broken heart aside - Originally, it was about a female friend who helped him through an ugly divorce. He became attached to her and when he confessed his love to her she not only denied him but she abandoned the friendship altogether. Long story short, the creation of this song started with Corey being reluctant to bring it to the band but Paul, the bassist encouraged Corey to keep working on it. The band came together to support Corey and one day Paul, Joey the drummer, and Jim the lead guitarist surprised him with some preliminary lines of music and it took off from there. Sadly, after the album release Paul passed away due to a drug overdose. Although the song is about an unrequited love, it is always dedicated to the memory of Paul now. This performance was also before the death of Joey who succumbed to a muscle disease he had since he was a child. This song is the last song the original band ever wrote together and it is an absolute fan-favorite. - M4L

Mightve been mentioned but this song was originally about a breakup but after og Slipknot member Paul Gray passed away, Corey has said he thinks of Paul everytime he sings this one now.

The absolute best song Corey Taylor ever did was with Dave Grohl from nirvana/foo fighters. Corey sang and Dave played drums. They have a 20 minute video of the making of the song on KZbin. The first 15 minutes is of them recording the song in the studio and you get to just watch Corey in the booth doing his thing and it's so amazing to watch. No slipknot mask, camera right next to his face, and singing his soul out. It's an amazing song that should be more popular than it was. Sound City - From Can to Can't That's the song/video. Anyone who watches this is going to be amazed. Definitely watch the 20-minute version and not just the song music video

From somone who seen slipknot 5x in concert, been in the pit 2x😊 they are amazing live! But damn this song they almost never play, only more recently they have been. Its so rare to have a band create such a work of beautiful pain and not share it, to me that makes this song so much more powerful. Knowing how deep this song and "till we die" are to them and us as fans. As another said in the comments, do check out stone sour as well, you wont be disappointed!

Knowing a bit of backstory regarding this song and his late bandmate makes this performance just so much more powerful. But over the years, Corey has become grateful that "Snuff" now reminds him of the great relationship he and Paul Gray had"

It's likely been shared but the song itself was initially about a relationship Corey was in which broke down but he's grateful for it even though it hurt him a lot. However the song does have an extra significance it's the final single released to feature both Paul Gray and Joey Jordison on the original studio track. Paul who I believe encouraged Corey to share the song with the band as he was saving it for something else sadly died not so long after the singles release and Joey left the band not so long afterwards following an illness (although the method of his departure is murky) and sadly has since passed away. Corey appeared on NY Ink where he got a tattoo portrait of Paul on his calf and it's really heartbreaking to watch him breakdown during this clip.

I saw him in June at the Resurrection Fest, his pronunciation is so good that all the Spanish people understood perfectly what he was saying and although he may seem like a savage, he is a romantic who spent 5 minutes thanking his partner for all her support and love. @@-scrim Man,you can't be more wrong that you are.First of all if it wasn't for Slipknot this song would never exist in a first place.Second, this song means to Corey so much because of the dead of Paul. And my final point is that there are only 5 songs that are covers of og songs(for me this song is a cover) on this Earth that are better and sorry but this song isn't on that list. I agree that this version shows more of Corey's range but you can't say that this version is better based on the vocal perfomance only

Occasionally, if you're lucky, you get to watch what i can only describe as a kind of heightened brief symbiosis between musician/singer and audience that can sometimes last for no longer than the moment of a song and is soon passed. I've seen it a few times myself. It can't be predicted but when it happens, makes for a rare and unforgettable experience for all. I get the sense that this was such an occasion. 👍
