Thank you for sharing tip about arteza pencil crayons , I agree they have the best looking colour🌈👍

These would be great to add labels and hang from jars in your pantry and kitchen. You could color images to go with your decor. Kind of a new twist on the current “farmhouse” obsession. And I definitely see them stamped and colored for Christmas tree ornaments and for gift bags. Are you still doing craft fairs? You could package them up in groups. They would be cute hung on purses, bags, keychains...I think they would even be pretty with a pin back and worn as a decorative pin with a coat or scarf.

I have arthritis so when I use colored pencils, I use silicone grips that slide onto the pencil. You can purchase the grips at an office supply store in packs of 6.

They came out beautiful! What a great idea. If you are using them for coasters you will want to seal them. Arteza pencils are somewhat water soluble, not quite as much as water color pencils, but they do bleed when wet.

Very nice idea, Lindsay! Question: Would a thin coat of gesso on the wood discs help reduce the use of the colored pencil plus aiding in adding details? Edit: In order to make these beauties practical, can you put some lacquer on them for protection? They should be able to take a moist wipe for cleaning off.

This looks like soooo much fun!! Do you think one could do it with water-based markers as well? I have some markers from Hobby Lobby with truly AWFUL nibs (So hard and rough, they peel paper after one stroke!), and I think they could be useful for a project like this because I don't mind the nibs getting "messed up".
@thefrugalcrafter5 жыл бұрын
Sure. As long as you are not worried about fraying the markers:)

I'd love to see alcohol markers!! Would a cheap set of sharpies work that you could get a set just for this project? I bet the metallic ones would be beautiful on them, maybe Christmas ornaments or coasters. I have Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis and have very little hand strength, but would LOVE to do this!!! Thank you!!
@thefrugalcrafter5 жыл бұрын
I'd only do it with cheaper markers in case it harmed the nibs with the wood being slightly rough.
