@The Mighty Zim Nawww buddy she told the unvarnished truth .The generation of Mad Men enjoyed no industrial/manufacturing competition becuase Europe was destroyed in WW2. And also were enjoying the FULL benefits of thier forefathers's exploitation of the Africans and the Native Americans And guess what? They fking squandered it on excess, hedonism and endless wars. If you didn't get it right, you don't get to keep it right.

It’s insightful to the centrist-liberal white ppl who were otherwise complacent or blissfully ignorant. Sam Jay is brilliant at what she does because she’s able to bring along people in the majority in a way that does not feel immediately threatening to them. She obviously knows racist old people vote a lot and are at the vanguard of trying to stop social progress. But she gets her audience to empathize with her and who she represents via her sympathizing with what we now see as patently absurd. It’s Jedi-level social influence via absurdist comedy. Probably a consequence of learning to navigate a city like Dorchester/ Boston as young black gay masculine-of-center woman in the 90s

@@Fuccaufif it is, it is their realization to their own victimization and demise. If you’re gaining something to which wasn’t and isn’t yours while the pioneering stock and authorship is losing and nothing to gain you should reflect on the abundance of your privileges that you don’t deserve and realize that they are being oppressed through treason, while filtering it through the guise of “progress, Diversity, multiculturalism etc etc”. The dichotomy of “guest & Host” has been institutionally replaced by the falsity of “oppressed and oppressor” or “minority vs majority”.

Plenty of stand up is still funny, especially funny black comics or women. Comedy Central is doing this weird performance art where they platform literally any identity performance spoken into a microphone & captured on film.
