When you drive drake that whole galaxy is your toilet. This is my favorite ship out of its competitors though. It's pretty much the only ship I was able to kill some player F8Cs and some other fighters because of it's turn rate or votl snaps. Good review. It isn't perfect but it is home* for a lot of us. Then we grow into the cutty blue to keep people in scm speed.

There isn't another ship out there I enjoy flying more. received the cutlass black 2 years ago and it has never seen cobwebs. Daily driver since day 1, love the ship, the design, everything. Cant wait for the Gold pass. The HP nerf wasnt even a nerf, its basically back to the hp it had before master modes. Its now inline again with Zeus and Freelancer in terms of HP. The only ship that is kinda out of the pond right now is the C1 Spirit (67k HP). Probably will also get its HP reduced to around 24-30k. This ship has become a legend in Star Citizen.

With the current layout of the crew habitation area, the only way to fit a toilet into the ship is to change the manned turret into a remote and put the toilet in the area of the manned turret’s chair is. I am for this. A ship with a bed and no toilet is a ship I would not want to own IRL.

I remember first seeing a cutlass, it was my first week playing and one landed full of npc. Snuck into it killed everyone and was just in awe on the detail and the fact I managed to steal it. My first ship to upgrade to. Man that feeling was amazing. You can also fit a Cyclone, if you are doing bunkers get the one with the 1SCU space for storage or get the MT where you can use the cannon as a sniper and kill a horde from far. I've has so much fun with this thing.

Honestly I still have one, even having all the Zeus ships, and having flown the c1 before. It’s the best handling ship in its “class” and it’s firepower is great. It’s also the best in my opinion for being low profile for trading, mining, etc. it doesn’t draw a lot of attention compared to the Zeus, spirit, or other dedicated haulers.

Only Drake ship I really like. Do love the look of the Cutty for some reason. Was the first real do-it-all ship. I always laugh when I see those rear engines faced down in VTOL mode and think how, with real physics, it would just flip it straight over.

Back in the day before my psychosis really set in, no longer melting or upgrading, but only buying, because my weird OCD wants me to only add to my precious collection, I upgraded my Cutty black. I'm gonna get another one. But what I really want is for them to give me the black with the glass canopy from the blue.

I really like the manned turret and it's quintessential Drake and piracy to have someone inside of it. Remote turrets are too fancy of tech for Drake anyway and we want the crude adrenaline of being on the outside of the ship manning guns to shoot other ships. Bathroom and a small table with some displays Drake style would be most welcome though.

Having one single remote turret in the Corsair, out of 4 sets of weapons is acceptable since the rest is manned. It's a design language by itself and a statement and I love it.

Love the Cutty Black. It's not my daily anymore, but still a staple ship in my fleet. Great for getting around, side doors make loading smaller cargo contracts a breeze. And the jump seats make it a blue light special drop ship. One of the most versatile ships in the verse.

Of all my ships the Cutlass Black likely has the most milage and looks awesome in the Coalfire and Pirate paints. It does lag behind in amenities being a very old design but will get an update eventually. It's the quintessential JOAT boat because it's so versatile even if there are ships that can do some roles better. It's easy to fly and use and cheap to operate which made it a favorite among pirates and freelancers in the lore. It's enough ship to feel substantial with enough pilot weapons to run solo and adding 1-2 friends makes it even more effective and a way to get into multicrew without it being a hard necessity. For cash or aUEC its one of the better value buys IMO.

The Cutlass black is my favorite. I am willing to overlook the gold pass and updates (for now). It is my daily driver because of the versatility. It has allowed me to try nearly every mission type except salvage and mining. Drake ships feel like they need you as much as you need them. Every other ship I have tried I keep going back. At this point it is iconic and legendary to the lore of Star Citizen.

Luke : Your ship is just a piece of junk Han : She's got it where it counts, kid As a Freelancer pilot from the very beginning, I smiled often and for a long time about drake ships, the drake fans called me a phallus pilot. that's part of the occupational hazard! after all, a roc and a mule fit in FL at the same time, with the Cutty a roc is just about possible. the cutlass black is the most flown piece of junk in the galaxy. it's a really good ship in the past, lots of rockets, six seats, three doors, protected turret, not too big, great vtol lift...and exactly these big engines with great sound are also its disadvantage, if one is lost the fight is over. When the Cutty Red arrived I was delighted and bought it. when the corsair arrived I was fascinated and did the same. I still think drake ships are incredibly ugly, but they can do something and are good dailey drivers!

I've started playing the game during last invictus. Most of time till now I'm still flying cutty black :) I didn't manage to collect money for anything bigger (got some small ships though... like buccanneer and prospector). There is a legend that triangle on the floor in living area is supposed to hide dinning table :D I totally agree that turret could be changed to remote handled by copilot and little shower/toilet in that place would fill great (I think cutlass red has it?). The ship doesn't excel in anything in it's class but it's great multitool. I often carry s2 tractor beam on one of the weapon racks for me or my crewmate. Still the ships have some unfixed issues since I've got it few months ago. Also got new one recently (you cannot open side doors from outside). But I love this ship!

I have only have two ships on my account, the Cutlass Black starter pack and the Starlancer Max. The Cutty is one of the best ships in game hands down. Also one of the few ships in game that synergize 100% with its lore. (And those side doors!) "Duct-Tape and Love"

The Cutty Black default load out for the pilot of 2 repeaters and 2 gatlings is great! Also the turret is well positioned and great to use offensively in combination with the pilots guns (assuming a gunner onboard), while other ships nerf their turrets visibility (for reasons). A perfect 2 man ship that isn't just a zero interior military ship.

One of my favourite ships. Maybe Hull HP is lower now, but I can still have full power to weapons and shields in the same time with proper loadout. Speed and manuverbility is the best in this class, even better than average heavy dedicated fighter. Cutty black is in my opinion the best choice for HRT contracts. Have also the best offensive capability in this medium multi role class. If one day Cutlass series will have proper rework it will become my favourite.

I pledged with a cutty black. I love this boat, I agree that Im hoping they fix the interior, and the HP drop hurt a lot. Ive moved my layout to a more stealth build now and that has helped survival for me quite a bit. not my daily anymore... but after my Corsair got nerfed hard, my love the the black came back a bit for certain missions.

They completely ruined the look and I'm genuinely surprised more cutty fans haven't spoken up. Swap the MFDs ok fine, but the complete redesign and colour change is truly awful. On top of that the immersive HUD with ship speed and weapon detail is gone (looked AMAZING in VR mod) so I'm glad I didn't go through with buying one a month or so ago before the changes, well at any point previous to a few weeks ago, because I'd be furious at how the aesthetic has been cheapened and un..immersified? Yeh I'll go with that.

Traded in my Cutlass for a Zeus. Combat was never what this was best at other than some NPC shooting, and the cargo filled up fast. It was a great daily and good all-rounder. Not sure the HP drop is helping it any. It already seemed a little fragile with how common loosing bits of the ship was. Spirit and Zeus just surpassed it for medium cargo and shield life, with better crew life interiors.

This was my starter ship in the game, I loved it, then I liked it, then after a while I started wishing they had given it some love and updating. Now, as you show, it doesn't compare favorably in many areas. For me, the one with 6 points was my choice to replace it. The Cutlass does fly and handle well, but the nerfs to the speed, range, and hull HP are making a difficult comparison even worse. It can hand out some serious damage to hostiles, but it also takes damage pretty quickly, and losing an engine is almost always a total loss. They used to have NPCs running these with seemingly infinite shields and ammo, which made the ship seem better than it actually is day to day. It's easy to love the Cutlass, but I think they want to sell the newer ones right now, so they're making it pretty uncompetitive, except for a niche of pirates, mercs, and combat squads. Counting the logout beds, jump seats, REO, and turret, the pilot can carry up to 10 other players. That's enough of a small army to create some serious mayhem, if that's what you're looking for. And for those looking at the shield numbers, they aren't representative. The Zeus can only power about 1.25 shields, the others are redundant but not functional.

Just wait and see what they will come up with in the next years. Its not worth it. Stats are subject to change and they will have to redesign this already re-redesigned ship. If you want to back just go with one of the starter packs (with small ships), but seriously, dont do it at this point. I am a backer from the beginning (only with starter ship), and back in the day we thought that this game will be complete in two years. Thats what was advertised. They kept adding and adding stuff, and now its a total different thing. Same with all the ships. So wait maybe another 5 to 10 years, maybe this game will be somewhere then. Also: I was 23 when they started the Kickstarter campaign. Now I am 36. Life can change pretty drastically. Your interests will shift, and you wont have as much time as your younger self.

The only... ONLY drake ship i like is the Red (When the beds work). I dont like drake. but its multi purpose roles cant be ignored when doing PvE's. i always do that or pull a valkrie out with a nursa inside for healing. when i do bunker runs i want it to be a ship that can heal and treat my boo boo's. so far only ships able to do that is the 890 and the pieces C8 medical rescue... For now.

The Cutlass line of ships also needs a pair of suit lockers, though I'm not sure how they plan to shoehorn everything into the front room, much less all of the components. I suspect the "single S2 shield" is largely due to realizing that they simply don't have enough room for anything more, since CiG seems to be averse to putting components in the floor/ceiling in most ships. I suspect the inclusion of 2 suit lockers will come at the loss of half of the handheld weapon rack. I really wish that the ship's front wings made any amount of sense. The side plates accomplish nothing, nor the weird landing gear arms(?) at their ends. I'd much rather they put some sort of VTOL thruster there, to make the existing rear VTOL/main thrusters make more sense. Currently, the VTOL mode should make the ship do endless front flips. The center of thrust is way too far rearward. It doesn't make any visual sense. I suspect that the ship will eventually get a lot more armor/hull HP, maybe even more hull segmenting to make the loss of its wings/nacelles less likely. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Easy way to make this ship fun, at least the steel variant is to be able to swap between a grenade launcher (Halo reach hornet style) or some high caliber cannon that can damage ships instead of the machine gun

I feel like some of the older ships, the freelancers, Avengers, 300 series, and Cutlass Black, are all missing something with respects to living amenities that seemingly all newer designs get. Whether it is missing the shower, the microwave, place to sit and eat, or maybe an armor locker or gun rack, the older ships seem to be missing something compared to the new ships. It would be nice if CIG went back and updated some of the older ships. Even the Mustang Alpha used to have this huge space behind the seat you could walk over to and use, that old hatch was deadly, but not anymore? Some of the old designs need some love from CIG's designers with some updates.

This ship is one of those outdated ships (like the Freelancer, Connie...) which is hard to refit into the modern CIG ship design, due to the fact that when this ship was conceived they didn't had established the current standard. For the price I'd go for the C1 any day of the week with an extra 15$

I still love the Black. It's such a swiss army knife, even with the recent losses. I moved to a Red for the quality of life you get with regen (though it will be nice when they fix the Red's medbeds!) but I miss the sheer versatility of the black. I would love to know what your opinion is on the current shape of the Red, if you're looking for future video ideas. With the release of the MediTerrapin, and it's tier 2 medbed, what changes would you make to the Red to make it better - more in line with medical rescue gameplay?

The Cutlass was my favorite ship for a long time but unfortunately, it has some flaws like the missing crew amenities or the unnecessary big turret location. Furthermore, I think it's a shame that the engines no longer move like they do in the trailer to give the ship more maneuverability. Has anything changed with the Cutlass Blue? It punches well above its weight, with the removal of its tractor beam and turret if you are going solo you can full power shields, engines and guns with enough left for cooling etc some builds will put you in excess of 2000 dps and switching down to 24 size two missiles makes you very annoying haha have never hesitated to fight anything from medium to heavy fighters all the way to connies and corsairs in the cutlass and it has ample room for activities and other peoples belongings

I had to give up my first one when I unexpectedly got a chance to upgrade her to a superhornet for Talk like a Pirate day 2018. many big, badass space ships later, however. I realized the Cutty is just such a good ship. just the right size for so many things. so when the ROC came out, they had a Cutty/ROC pack with LTI for $150. so I got the Cutty as keeper at that point.
