"One way out!" "I can't swim." "What's my sacrifice?" Such simple lines that punch above their weight because of good set up and payoffs. This is the type of Star Wars we need not nostalgic baiting.

Everything! Luthen's actor and Andy Serkis(Kino) have got to be the best on the show. Which is saying a lot cause it's closely followed by Andor Mon Mothma, Mon's sister, Andor's adopted mother, the Empire generals and so on. The entire cast is amazing. But Andy really stood out with the short amount of time he's on the show

Luthen's speech was fantastic. The writing, the delivery, award worthy. I like how Stellan Skarsgard uses a bit of his Baron Harkonnen voice. Andor is definitely the DS9 of Star Wars. Luthen's speech really reminds me of another amazing monologue, "So I lied, I cheated, I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all, I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again, I would. Garak was right about one thing. A guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant, so I will learn to live with it. Because I can live with it. I can live with it."

This is hands down the best Star Wars content to date. Sure, the classics have a place in everyone's heart, but this series takes a deep dive into the dark, everyday man's world of Star Wars, without all the goofy bullshit that the newer movies bring to keep it PG. This is dark, and gritty, and often depressing, but also enthralling. It does an amazing job portraying people from both sides, fighting to the absolutely death either for their survival, or their livelihood, or their career promotions, and you can't help feel that even the workers of the Empire, are not black and white bad guys, and neither are the rebellion and their supporters.

My knees were shaking during that whole prison break buildup. My arms got goosebumps during Kino's rallying speech. And my heart sank as soon as Andor asked "What's Wrong?" at the edge of the tunnel. I kinda hope this is the last we see of Kino and his fate is left to interpretation. It's bittersweet and falls in line with the scale of the show. There are countless important individuals in the Rebels' history whose names were lost to time...thanks to their sacrifices only witnessed by those who ALSO made similar sacrifices later on. Cassian being pushed off in all the chaos without a chance to thank or say goodbye was absolutely the right call, you can bet lesser showrunners would've leaned into more 'dramatic' tropes in that climax.

Phenomenal episode. I do hope we see Kino Loy in season two as some Rebellion ground commander. Andor pushed him to be the "hero" in this prison break much like Luthen is making Lonni the "hero" working behind the scenes. The choice that Mon Mothma has to make... oof. The epic speech by Luthen. OMG.... There's a theory out there that he may have been a Jedi and now I can see it. Everything he's given up goes against everything a Jedi is about. As for Ferrix, it was a nothing scene, but other people have speculated that Maarva is plotting a rescue of Bix and taking down of the Imperial HQ by bringing in a doctor as a ploy to get the plan out, since he would be making other house calls and what not. Very clever if this is indeed what's going on, the scene totally makes sense.

I had my doubts about Andor when it was released. I didn't start watching it till episode 7 because I thought it would be Trash. But this series has turned out to be some of the BEST Star Wars ever Created in my opinion. The quality of Acting from all Characters is Top Tier. Great Writing, Actors, and Cinematography.

They knew the punishment grids on the floors were connected and on the same circuit. This was proven when they executed the previous day/night crew on level two last episode, it caused a brown out across the facility. At that point Andor knew he could create a short circuit on every floor. Very shoddy electrical work on behalf of the empire.

@@HHHPedigrees - I think he has done an amazing job personally. Taste in acting and media is very subjective though. Also weird that you also gloss over Skarsgard's performance as Lucien. Another thing I find odd is while I agree Serkis's performance was amazing he has only been in a few episodes so not sure how he is carrying the series when he has only been in a small fraction of later episodes (ie you had to watch like 7 episodes without him to get to him). Just does not really make much sense to me but again it is all fairly subjective.

This is SW at its pinnacle. Nothing fancy, no force users, no myths. Just the nitty-gritty every day life of rebels and Empire fighting each other. And excellent writing that lets us into a previously undiscovered world of SW, that was touched on, and barely scraped the surface by Rogue One. For SW fans, a must watch, easy 10/10.
