@@theshadowdirector People can like the characters, but still hate the movies..... I kind of like BB-8. I did not like the droid in the movie that much. And not every single minute in these last two Star Wars movies were bad anyway. In fact, I pretty much enjoyed Force Awakens quite a bit. Not much wrong in that. Even when people thought Rey to be a bit too much of a Mary Sue (I disagree, but unfortunately the Last Jedi made this thing worse). I didn't like Last Jedi when it comes to 1. the suicide kamikaze and 2. leader wamen not allowing for what is actually a very reasonable alternative plan, 3. Rey accidentally being good at Jedi mind tricks 'copying actions from legends' and 4. the 'slowest-fastest chase scene ever' ridiculousness. Oh and 5. Snoke dying was a huge mistake and missed opportunity for an epic battle at the end (Star Wars IX). At least Luke Skywalker kind of got a heroic death of sorts. But I wouldn't say it made much sense. It would have been a million times better had Kylo Ren killed Luke. You know, a traditional cut through the waist with Luke becoming a force ghost.

I think what the movie tried to do, is something that sounds cool but it isn't (because it takes agency from every character). Leia is doing everything behind the scenes, pulling the strings. She saved Rey, so Rey could stab and then save Ben; then Leia gave Ben a vision of Han, so Ben could help Rey and be reedemed, so Rey could fight Palpatine, so all the jedi help Rey, so Ben saves Rey and dies a good jedi turning one with the force. And then Leia turns one with the Force. This was Leia's movie. So, she manipulated and used everyone as she saw fit. Like, lying Rey about Palpatine. Lando brings all the ships, Leia beats the emperor; Luke grabs Rey gives her a ship and beings her to Palpatine. This is how i saw it.

I'd like to see some discussion of what qualifies as verification of these various predictions coming true. For example: if Kylo Ren ends up bleeding to death while cradled in Rey's arms, but first repents of all the trouble he caused his friends and family (and the rest of the galaxy), acknowledges himself to be Ben Solo, and kisses Rey goodbye right before he croaks, that obviously verifies Jenny's prediction of his redemption; but does that also count as a verification of her "Reylo" prediction on her card's free space?

The whole point of making these trailers is to misdirect viewers into coming up with plausible explanations for what they're seeing that fail to predict the actual plot twists. In turn, the point of watching these trailers is exercising your intellect by seeing whether you can outsmart the editors who compiled them to guess the actual plot twists before you go to see the movie. That Palpatine is going to be returning in the present in some form is a very plausible and popular explanation for having that recording of him cackling at the end of the first trailer... which is precisely why I'm predicting he won't. That's also why I'm predicting that "Skywalker" is not going to be the name of a new faction of Force users (Jedi or otherwise) and that Rey is not going to be turning evil even in a vision. These plausible explanations are just what the people who compiled those trailers *want* us to think.

I think what a lot of people don't understand is this trilogy isn't about Rey, just like the first three films aren't about Luke, they're about Darth Vader. Even though Rey is the protagonist, these films are supposed to echo IV, V, and VI, in that they are really about the redemption of Kylo Ren.

Honestly, the usage of force ghosts in Star Wars is one of the most well-handled bits, somehow. Obi-Wan's voice in the original, his confession in ESB, the appearance of all three ghosts at the end of RotJ, Yoda's appearance in Last Jedi - these are some of the best scenes in Star Wars, despite it not really being a concept that should work in parallel with spaceships and blasters.

I feel like that might be how it does go down for a satisfying end to the Falcon, but it’s at the end after it’s already done all the action, they land it, and it just dies and for some reason or another it just will never work again. But it gets landed in most likely a forested area, somewhere it doesn’t need to be towed off of, and somewhere it can get a little overgrown for potential Easter eggs in future spinoff media.
