Movie battles 2 was some of the most fun I'd had since Halo 2. The learning curve for playing Jedi/Sith was steep but that naturally funneled most people into other classes and everything just kinda balanced out really well. Community is still alive and very helpful. I've played it on and off for a couple years.

Knights Of The Force 2.1 It gives you a kinda sandbox where you can be characters from the Prequel, Original, Legends, and even the *shudder* Disney Trilogy. Alot of maps based on the films as well plus an Add/Load system where you can spawn NPCs and customize them to your liking.

It's a sad reflection on the state of gaming when we get more hyped up for remakes and remasters than new releases. Outcast and Knight along with the KOTOR games could all use a remaster treatment.

I hate Remasters and Remakes. Like the new Tony Hawk for example. To me THPS3/4 are perfect, they handle perfectly fine. What good does a remaster do other than give us prettier graphics? I’ll go back and play JK2/JKA/KOTOR any day. The graphics hold up absolutely fine and they don’t really need a remaster or remake.

@Jovica Jevtic balance certainly is important in a video game but you can balance the fun out of a game There are a great many exploits in Jedi Knight Jedi Academy and if you have no self-control it can ruin the balance But following order is your cookie cutter casual Souls like it's a great game and is fun to play but it doesn't bring anything exciting or new to the table You may look at it as gimping yourself to have fun I look at it as play style selection Think of it in terms of an RPG some people like the warrior class and have a lot of fun with it but maybe like the Rogue or Mage class more maybe you like those classes more because they're not as powerful as the warrior But for people who don't understand RPGs the warrior class is a great way to ease them in I highly recommend going for a Jedi guardian play style using only Light Side abilities and no heal as well as mostly lightsaber it's pretty fun And it's not inherently weaker than the other play styles instead of killing things with the force you're making it impossible for things to kill you with the force You're reducing the damage You Take by 85% and you're turning Hazard Troopers with the concussion rifles on your team to kill one another it's a genuinely good time but still quite powerful

You know, I'm gonna get shit on for this but The Last Jedi was one of the best Star Wars films and it saddens me a lot that the ONE thing that Disney did that was actually kinda good was the thing that got burned at the stake, is STILL getting burned at the stake. Why? Because Luke grew up? Because a traumatic experience didn't just bounce off of him? I mean, what are we even comparing these new movies to? The originals? Ep. 4-6 had its FAIR share of issues as well. My father was a Star Wars fan since the beginning. He loved TLJ. A few of my clanmates who've played JKA with me for a LONG time, they loved it. Makermod was a great mod idea that let you build in single player and multiplayer maps on multiplayer, so communities or "clans" as they were called, could customize the maps and make their own personal areas. You could also create your own maps with gtkradiant but that took a fair amount more skill. I wish there were still programmers interested in updating Makermod/improving it, it was abandoned after it was made open source as people moved on with their lives. Great video btw.

Spent 80 hrs with KOTOR and it's now in my top 10 of all time. Glad you posted this vid. This looks like what I was expecting from Fallen Order, can't wait to try it out. I just don't understand why they designed Fallen Order around the copy-paste, Sony exclusive, hanging off rocks type traversal mechanics. When I was a kid I started with Academy. It was awesome. Then I saw 'Jedi Outcast II' and I was like, "HOLY GOD THERE'S A SEQUEL!" Comparing this to Outcast is a bit unfair imo. I'm not sure but wasn't this a standalone expansion for Outcast back in the day, rather than it's own game? The pure combat mechanics in Academy are definitely objectively better though. It encompasses everything in Outcast but adds more moves, attacks, enemies etc. Outcast is an overall better game in terms of the singleplayer level design, story, characters - I especially like that you start the game without a lightsaber or any force powers. I still remember the joy I felt when I completed the jedi trials and turned on the lightsaber for the first time. Then there's the perfect introduction to the lightsaber combat with the Nar Shadaa bar fight, where you just cut through dozens of enemies and feel like a complete badass for the first time. The gameplay really evolves as you get a lightsaber, then more and more powerful force powers, facing deadlier and deadlier enemies. Makes me wish they still made games like that now. Completely agree that a modern remake or anniversary edition etc. of these games would be amazing - they'd definitely get my money. P.S. - A single saber with one blade is the only true way. It is also the most versatile as you gain access to all three saber combat styles (blue, gold, red) which are each effective against different enemy types but require different timings and playstyles. P.P.S. - Goddamn it, now I've talked myself into reinstalling these games. I guess it's time for another playthrough.

Legendary Star Wars Game. And its biggest issue is, there is no Level Select Screen! In a truly masterful crafted game, the moment you unlocked a level, you can always select it from the main menu. Sadly, in Wookiee Academy you have to use Map Codes to play your favorite level and use console/cheat codes to customize your saber and combat style. This is literally a chore to do. But its still one of THE best Star Wars games ever created. Because its from the Golden Age of gaming.

One of the best games when combat is not crippled by stupid target lock . DarkSouls, this is how it's done....!!!!

This reminded me of the multiplayer days, when I learned how poking worked so in duels you could 1 shot people if you were good. It was bloody hard to pull off well, but shit, it was great. Back then there were communities, where people who went around disturbing others were hunted down. Oh and the building servers, where you could spawn objects, build constructions, write scripts, create actual working doors that only you could use, create quest sequences, create an rpg system where you would get credits for doing quests, and you could buy power upgrades for doing quests. It was glorious. It was so much fun, I miss games like that :(

I got this game with a pack of 12 Star War games, including Jedi Outcast, Knight of the Old Republic, Dark Forces etc, etc, in a Steam sale a few years ago. I think that was under £10.

It's crazy i played JK:A over 15 years ago and still remember all the levels like i played it yesterday. I played some sort of custom laddermap defeat the last enemy and made a savegame then spawn in a bunch of sith npc's using notarget to place them where i want them disable notarget again and fight them kinda like a in-engine level editor. Also you could with the help of some console commands enable kungfu mode so you could kick enemies like they can kick you.

The thing I always did when replaying this game over and over was to use the force grip cheat (just for fun). It's a command cheat you type in to increase the power (think you set it to 8 or something). So when you run into a room with 5 storm troopers, you lift all 5 in the air and then by flipping the mouse + release they all fly up into the air.

Hey mac. Enjoying your honest content. Can relate to the way you describe stuff as I'm quite like that my self 👍. Been thinking of doing reviews myself. How do you go about things. Do you record a ton of game play then voice over whilst watching your recordings. Or do you write pointers and do the voice over separately. Anyway you have a new sub. Best wishes mate

Man I loved that game. Even played it competitively online for a time in ESL. In the multiplayer scene, light saber was basically useless (as was dual wield) and everyone almost only used single light saver heavy stance as it dishes out the most damage and you can really learn to control it very well with the mouse, lengthen the periods the saber stays in the same place by turning while you swing, etc. It was pretty glorious. The problem with all the light and new light saber styles is that they look fast and flashy, but are super weak and uncontrollable - and easily pushed aside by the heavy stance.

If you're not going to take Protect, Absorb and Heal, no wonder you're getting wrecked. It doesn't matter where the balance of your force powers lies; whether you fall or not at the end is a single choice, and you can do whatever you want regardless of your skills. Put your first point into Heal, so that you can always regen yourself out of combat. Then get Choke to 3 ASAP. It's totally OP given the bottomless pits everywhere. Even the most powerful Sith opponents can often be killed by a quick grab and flick; the trick is to move them fast enough that they'll keep flying into the pit when they break your Choke. Once you have that, level Protect and then Absorb. With those active, you are very difficult to kill unless you do something dumb.

Just completed it for first time last week. Im not an expert on the combat but Tieing movement to swing direction is like tieing a string between your foot and the cars steering wheel. Easy to do something unintentional while trying to do another.

Loved this game as a kid, and Jedi Knight 2. Saw the controls for all the various moves you could do and thought... would they do that in a modern game? Especially a franchise like Star Wars?

The hours I spent on duel servers wrecking people back in the day... Priceless! The good old days of honourable gaming, 1v1, winner stays on. These days that would probably be unfair as it doesn't give everyone an equal amount of experience in the game, haha. This, Star Wars Galaxies and Diablo 2 to name a few 😊 Edit: just to clarify, now I am 32, I get wrecked competitively 😅
