In Obi Wan's defence Hett had proved to be a violent and embittered individual perfectly willing to murder people who got in his way and a dangerous man who he had just publicly humiliated. Is that the sort of person you'd really want around? Especially when you are guarding what could well be the only hope the galaxy has of defeating Palpatine in the future.

@AeneasGemini5 жыл бұрын
@@tiredjediknight3110 if he couldn't stick around to help him, then he should have just killed him, it would only get worse. However I don't think it would've taken too much to help Hett. Remember other than this event and Maul showing up briefly Obi Wan spent his time doing a whole lot of nothing and barely made contact with Luke at all. It wouldn't be too dangerous to let Hett spend a few months with him just to get his head right. Either way, leaving him was just plain irresponsible
@tiredjediknight31105 жыл бұрын
@@AeneasGemini No no no. Obi Wan's choices weren't and shouldn't have been limited to help Hett, potentially at great risk to both himself and the future of the galaxy as a whole or murder the at that moment helpless man. Kenobi may not have been interacting much with Luke on a personal level yet but he was the boys protector and allowing Hett to be in proximity to him would have been potentially disastrous. Hett was at this point bitter, violent, dangerous and had just been humiliated by Obi Wan publicly which had caused his permanent exile from the only people he felt he had left. That's a bad influence to have around the only hope the galaxy had not to mention he posed an immediate threat to Obi Wan's life. Obi Wan could not allow Hett to be too close to Luke, could not allow him to discover Luke and could not allow Hett any opportunity to harm either Luke or Obi Wan himself. What he could do though (and did do) was give Hett the opportunity to move past what had happened and redeem himself for his past actions. The fact that Hett didn't do that isn't Kenobi's fault nor is it his responsibility. Hett made his own choices.

Sure Ossus happened but Krayt would no doubt get to the Imperials after his ascension (at least the ones who didn't willingly join the sith). They're supposed to be this sort of neutral middle ground. The Imperials aren't fighting for good so much as fighting for one man wanting to be Emperor, however they realize the need to ally with the Alliance and Jedi to stop Krayt. And how Roan Fel and Marasiah Fel represent the old vs the new and the possibility for change in authoritarian societies. They do try to make them stand out from the Jedi, but in practice they again, don't need to be there half the time and jedi could fill their (character) roles fine. The reason the One Sith are scary in how just scarily brainless and submissive they are, down to having the exact same lightsabers and tattoos for all members and would have to kill themselves on command. The Imperial Knights are supposed to be neutral yet they also have a thing for all members having duplicate armor and lightsabers. Hypocrites. Actually the one sith don't wear identical clothes now that I think about it. Plus outside of the emperor and his daughter, none of them have any actual personality. Outside Antares Draco who has an arc where he learns to stand for whats right even if it goes against the orders of the one man he's supposed to serve totally. And the fact he saved the galaxy by stopping the emperor from deploying Omega Red. Btw, their ideology of being light oriented but not strictly light like the Jedi and existing to serve one man as opposed to the force is a cool ideology, but they don't really delve into it. Also again, they're mostly just doing things jedi could just as easily do.

This and the video you made about Halagad Ventor are my two favorite videos you have produced. You should definitely consider doing more "The Story of..." videos. Two characters I think would make excellent videos are Abeloth and Kerra Holt. You already mentioned your love for the Legacy of the Force series of books and I'd love to see you go into more detail about it. As for Kerra she is who I would also consider to be an underrated Jedi. She's relatively unknown to most people I talk to, even hardcore fans and I feel like this needs to change. If you would consider doing videos on these characters I'd definitely appreciate it.
