The Planetary Fortress falling at the 16:30 mark is one of my favorite battles in all of StarCraft history. The minute long back and forth between the armies, trying to get into a favorable position, finally ending with the liberators facing the wrong way and the disruptors coming in behind, the stalkers blinking underneath. The SCV's rush to heal the Planetary, but two novas arc around each side, four balls of destruction seeming to roll around the fortress, obliterating the SCV's in their path. The liberators rush to reposition but it is too late, the stalkers have burned them from the sky, and the terran bio ball is just too small to hold. In a deft second, the Planetary and all its defenders fall. Truly incredible micro. I saw this game first on Winter's channel: Through the eyes of a Programmer. Watching the entire match through Mana's eyes is truly incredible. When Special called gg, I was astounded. The winning blow did not look any different to me than any of the dozens of blows Special had struck. Not being able to see the Terran's map and economy, I still thought Special was even or ahead. Special's incessant attacks made the entire game feel like a desperate hold, and I could not believe it when it was over. Watching it from an observers standpoint, it is still amazing. Special really did play incredibly. Mana just managed to hold a tiny bit more, and for it, he has joined my ranks of favorite players.

Winter did a great cast, but he did not control the camera like an observer, but let the entire game play out from Mana's point of view. If it appeared Winter missed something, it is because Mana either missed it (which he react rather slowly or insufficiently a couple of time) or Mana's camera just moved so fast that there was something more noteworthy going on before it the supposedly missed thing could be commented on. Both do great casts of this great game. Both would be great observers and commentators.

Wow, disruptors were definitely the name of the game here! Mana uses them so well someone new to starcraft would instantly think they're op, but Special had many great dodges in this game too. Like just look at the last couple of fights, 21:40 and onwards... absolutely insane most people would've been able to take 3 or 4 of those shots before the army was gone... Felt like he took like 10 with barely any losses O_O

What a great game this was! There are 2 other games id really like you to cast which were awesome. The third game between True and Lambo, really fun back and forth game with burrowed roaches! And the first game between Lambo and Serral, although its a relatively short game, it highlights how good pro players are with information controll its amazing.

The liberators did not really provide enough value for Special. Without the range upgrade they are easily focused by the stakers and are basically expensive scrap.

I have to say I'm really not sure what value these liberators really give. In every engagement they just seem to die before they even finish setting up. Unless it's defending a choke against a very spesific composition it just seem like siege tanks would do a vastly better job.

efijas You know what the immortal is, right? No one build 2 factories against protoss. Tank do damage less than lib. And 2 starports could produce liberators more than tank at the same time as well. Also, chargelot's role is meatshield. With speed, high-vitality and pretty good damage along with many disruptors, they will rip off every MMM in the field without a doubt if the Terran-player has tanks not many as mech.

That did not look very back and forth as you said. When you say the terran is having the upper hand, mana was still using his units more effectively. In the end, when mana had lower supply, the army supply was almost the same, but 12 more scvs than probes resulted in 400 more minerals and 400 more gas per minute for the probes. As soon as the new terran base was finished, making the terran able to use the scvs for mining, it got destroyed by the protos army. It looked like special was doing big damage, but being a terran, he really did not mine as effectively as most other terrans and were always sligtly after in everything according to me. But if it hadn't been for the skills of mana that game would deffinitly have been a back and forth battle, or even a terran win.

Nah, they are not that expensive, and if you make 1 or 2 in a vulnerable spot, such as 9:45 it would save a lot of troubles. This guy, Special, im not his friend, but i personally know him, he doesnt like to build them. Cant tell for other terrans. When i played (a long time ago) i use to make 1 or 2 in vulnerable bases. Zergs usually attack with the first volley of mutas they make, around 5. And a lot of players queue up waypoints and actions, such as opening the void ship. So you might get them or at least make them detour for a couple of seconds. Enough to react and send a squad. Terran should build more turrets. Zerg and protoss always build a couple of them. Terran shouldnt be so overconfident for the t1 that shoots air.Turrets are not that expensive for the value they give if they are in a good spot. They are just overconfident on marines, and a lot of times they get anihilated by an oracle runby or a couple of phoenixes.
