Well the video helped, but one of the T connectors from the shorter hose that goes to the throttle body broke off. Now I'll have to drain the coolant to install a new connector. Any chance you'd know what particular T connector I need to buy?
@KReesethebeast4 жыл бұрын
Oh no what a bummer! No, I am not sure of the exact part you are speaking of to even tell you where to find it. I would go to a good auto parts store and have them pull up a parts diagram of that throttle body, that way you can see every part and order the correct part you need. Hope this helps.

I have a 2007 Mercury Milan as well. I have 260,000 mi on my car and the starter just went out. And and you said starter motor goes out about 250,000 miles. You're right on point for that, kudos to you. It's letting me tap on it on the starter motor and the car will turn over and start. How long will that last before I have to go ahead and replace the starter? Thanks a bunch your video saved me a lot! I appreciate you being on here. Have a great day!

Thank you for the video. It seems our starter is on its way out, but we only have 107,000 miles. It won’t crank at times. Even the garage where I normally go agrees, but it only did it once for them. At the moment it’s working. Do you have any oil leaks ?

My project was a 2012 MKZ. BTW starter mounting bolts were 1/2" SAE. 2nd time with same problem. Bendix mechanism binding on shaft. Helluva racket on the flex plate until the Bendix bumps back. Don't want to chew the flexplate up. Rather rebuild this starter than replace assuming factory starter is better than aftermarket Chinese??????? I have a local old school guy who rebuilds starters alternators generators etc. PS. Really good tutorial. Thank you

The starter on my 06 Milan didn't go out. The starter solenoid did. Still had to remove and replace the starter to fix it. I Immediately traded the car in after that. I had too many issues with the car since day one and the starter solenoid going out was the final straw. Not to mention the starter was buried under the intake manifold. Great video, but it was just too much work for me to keep my Milan

I have a 2009 Mercury Milan with the starter towards the front of the motor ( not under the battery) I put the new one on, however my car is not starting. Its kind of like making a dragging sound. Sometimes it tries to turn over. Almost like the gears are not connecting. Any suggestions?

I have one more question. So we were able to get my car started charging the solenoid. Any advice on what could be causing this?
@edwardjones82623 жыл бұрын
What were the symptoms of a bad starter? Did you have a “Check Charging System” warning on the dash?
@KReesethebeast3 жыл бұрын
No, I knew the sound it makes. I knew battery was good because headlights on high nice and bright and all electronics work and starter does not turn over at all. Hit it with a hammer and it turned over, that is when you know it is bad.
