Finding a mean of 14+15/2 is the same as finding the median 14+15/2, because he is talking about 2 numbers. He was not talking about the mean of the total, but the mean of Q1 & Q3.. you seem to be confused...

Tom Billington its the formula for “upper fence” which is Q3 +1.5 *IQR and “lower fence” Q1+1.5*IQR
