Finding a mean of 14+15/2 is the same as finding the median 14+15/2, because he is talking about 2 numbers. He was not talking about the mean of the total, but the mean of Q1 & Q3.. you seem to be confused...

You are saying "mean" but you should say "median" when finding Q1 and Q3. I was going to use your video to help my niece understand how to find outliers, but I do not wish to confuse her. Aside from that error your video is very well explained.

Tom Billington its the formula for “upper fence” which is Q3 +1.5 *IQR and “lower fence” Q1+1.5*IQR

Ik you graduated already but for anyone else wondering it's the formula for the upper boundary: Q3+1.5(IQR) and lower: Q1-1.5(IQR) the value will always be 1.5

How do you get the mean of the second half? Do you sum the 6 largest numbers together? It should be 15.8 I think.

to be honest, I needed to watch this during a test and once he wrote q1=11 I could smell the whiteboard marker...I know it's weird...and I know I'm commenting this during coronavirus quarantine in 2020, 8 years later it was posted.
