My take is that Gulliman knows where Cato's head is and keeps him close to help him recover through service to him. We all know how Gulliman doesn't always speak his intentions but has plans in motion. Bringing him close also addresses the issue of succession, at least in the immediate term. Hard to be close to the Big Blue and not get your mojo back.

Sicarius is much like a questing knight, so it would be cool to see an interaction with the Lion. Some shared personality there, and could help with Sicarius' direction.

Literally just finished reading the Sicarius Knight of Tallasar Omnibus. This is my first Ultramarine dominated novel I’ve read and I was expecting to not like anything about the blueberries because of all the memes and whatnot, happy to report I was pleasantly surprised by how much humanity they have in their chapter akin to the Salamanders especially Scipio and Iulus

​@@MrJara1018 Well, now you have something in common with your fave Ultramarine. Joking! I also thought they played up his annoying vanity, but I also understand that it was part of the joke. I also believe it was part of the joke as well that he and the other Ultrasmurfs were able to recover Magnus against literally impossible odds and all of them be fine due to their impenetrable plot armor, which I think is a jab at Matt Ward.

To be fair, he was on his arch travelling in the Webway, but the series was cut short before he got a chance to flesh out his character. You also have the Dark Angels bunch, Belial, Azrael, who get the same treatment and didn't became nearly of a laughing stock by the fans.@@MrJara1018

The pains he felt will always be with him in the future, though how that changes him or how he uses it will be interesting. I say make him the 2nd Captain again for 2 reasons, (1) the Victrix guard isn't really brought up anymore, in fact until a change happens on the table top only Calgar could recreate it. (2) The Ultramarines are always shown almost always as the 2nd Company so it makes sense for them to have their Captain shown with the replacement Captain Sevastus Acheran not even sure if alive might be for the best to bring him back up to Company leading.

6:56 To me, "red-rimmed eyes" are honestly a sign of rubbing your eyes too much. Perhaps due to allergies (very unlikely here), perhaps due to stress, perhaps due to tiredness.
