Stay Strong! A Magic 4-Patch Quilt Honoring the Ukrainian People

This quilt measures 54” X 54”
Fabric Requirements (Not including binding and backing):
1 ¾ yards of Yellow (light)
1 ¾ yards of Blue (dark)
You will cut 11 strips, 5 ½” wide the width of the fabric for each color.
If you cut squares instead of using the strip method (shown in the video), you will need 72 blue squares and 72 yellow squares 5 ½” X 5 ½”.
You will make (36) 4-Patch blocks that will measure 10 ½” X 10 ½” (this is considered unfinished).
You will make 4 cuts 1 ¾” from the center seam.

Hello, Britta I stop by often to see what you’re up to now and you never disappoint. And I so very much how you listen and respond to your fans’ commentary. My brain always goes into shutdown mode as soon as you start arranging blocks. I simply can’t process what’s happening, never mind being able to seeing the individual elements. Even if I were standing right next to you and you slowly coached me along I absolutely couldn’t process what’s going on. I can’t even pick out how the variations differ. And I love and appreciate your work. It’s just fascinating to me to see how amazingly different peoples’ brains are‼️ We all have such varied strengths and interests. How boring it would be not to have our differences. In my case, I’m a retired elementary principal and I truly enjoy thinking about how we can be such creative experts in our chosen areas of expertise. I can tell you about calculating the snow load on a gym roof above a space created using balloon construction. Or facilitating the highest achievement scores in math among Black boys….. Britta, your creative genius inspires me every time I stop by. It’s a comfort to me during these turbulent times. Please keep excellent care of yourself.

Thank you so much for the detailed response. I was wondering if you have this issue with all the videos or mostly with this one. Please let me know. I can't get better if I don't know what's wrong. I was concerned that with the blue and yellow being so bright, that it might be hard to follow all the different arrangements. You are the second person to say that they had trouble seeing the differences between the layouts and that is something I take very seriously. If you were standing next to me, I would have you arrange them yourself on the design wall and you would start to understand. If you could do all those amazing things as a school principal (which I don't think I could do) then I am sure you could do this. Thanks again, Brita
