I know this channel is not in any way politically colored, but today the world woke up in a new reality in which facts are no longer important and big tech is taking over. I have therefore decided to end my subscriptions to US KZbin channels. Of course this will not change the course of events, but I myself want the least possible to do with the USA for the coming 4 years. Sorry.

Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate that I won't be thinking that I did something to make you unsubscribe. Do what you have to do to make yourself feel better. If in the future you want to come back in some way, just consider that small (non-corporate) content creators are individual people and not the US government. I have viewers from all over the world and some of them are from countries which have governments I don't agree with. I don't hold their governments' views against the people of that country. I also realize that the citizens of those countries often suffer the most from their governments. Just something to keep in mind.

Can you help me with the math of how many charm packs I’d need for this quilt?
@QuestioningQuilter9 күн бұрын
There is a short .pdf pattern for this quilt that is free for people who have subscribed to my Free Newsletter. It comes out every few months and often contains a free pattern. The form is on every page of my website, just enter your email address. In the confirmation email there will be a link to the newsletter archive which has links to all of the patterns/newsletters. If you don't get the confirmation in an hour, please check your spam and other folders, if you still can't find it, reach out to me directly. [email protected] For this quilt you will need 36 white squares, 36 black squares, 36 light color squares, and 36 dark color squares. You can use purchased charms, or you can cut your scraps into 5" charms, which is what I did. Generally charm packs have 42 squares in a pack, so you would need 4 packs to make this quilt which measures 42" X 42".

Hi Brita, I just found your channel and I’m binge watching! Your quilts are fabulous and your teaching is so easy to follow. You mentioned Steve’s Sewing in KOP…..I teach at a nearby elementary school. What a small world. Anyway, I’m a very traditional quilter (currently finishing Dear Jane) but I just love your designs and will definitely be making one soon ❤

Thank you so much for your concern. I have been having knee problems recently (patellar tendonitis) and that has kept me from getting things done. This getting older isn't for the faint of heart. I do have another video in the works. I was hoping to have it out by New Year, but now I am aiming for the end of the month. It is going to be several variations on the Jacob's Ladder block. Brita

I’m a little slow… in the final quilt, you turned the two ‘handle’ squares 180 degrees, therefore creating two sets of wratchets
@janeahrens5722 ай бұрын
Sorry, ratchets
@QuestioningQuilter2 ай бұрын
Yes there are two different socket wrenches a mirror image of each other. This video isn't really a teaching video, it was created as a promotional video for the Lectures that I give to quilt guilds. I do have an article that shows how to make a standard disappearing 4 patch, then if you go half way down the page I have the instructions to make the socket wrench/ratchet quilt. questioningquilter.com/2021/03/07/the-magic-of-disappearing-blocks/ Let me know if you have any questions.

I am trying to learn quilting on my own. Is there a book I can get to help me
@QuestioningQuilter2 ай бұрын
I am currently working on a book of disappearing patterns, but I don't have a book on learning how to quilt. Where are you located? Email me ([email protected]) and maybe we can find a quilting guild in your area that you could visit. You are lucky that you have KZbin to help you. I haven't researched beginner quilt books but the best way to learn is to start doing. Maybe start with something small like a table runner or even a pot holder. I have a video for a very simple placemat that is suitable for a beginner. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXqVnZ2JhJ6bqpY
