I'm sorry bro my dog died on August 1st of this year. I had him since I was 4, and now I'm 15 he didn't get to see me turn 15. The only thing I hoped from him was for him to see me go to high school. And that awesome little guy stayed with me long enough to see me do it. Just know our good bois are waiting for us. My dog was a black and white chihuahua and his name was pickles and he loved to play ball. Just know our dogs are not in pain. All I ask for you is to have an amazing day 😊. When I saw this video for the first time and the boy so enthusiastically called out his name I cried, called over my Stanley, and told him he’s my #1 dog. I had to make the difficult decision to let my boy rest last year, and today this video came up again after so long of not seeing it. I am currently just sitting here with tears, remembering just how good of a boy my Stanley was. In an apocalypse there are more than just hero’s. There are casualties. Families torn apart, death and destruction. The inevitable end of our species. And pets, without their owners they would become feral strays, living amongst the ruins, decay and debris of humanity. This reminds us that whilst the sexy hero is fighting in badass action scenes or working in a chem lab, there are ordinary people. People who will simply give up because they can’t cope with the sudden change. Depressed people who already didn’t fit in with the old world have got nothing to lose when the new world asserts itself. And dogs and cats, abandoned by their owners because they can’t be kept if their owners were to survive, unable to truly understand why they were abandoned. Why humans are acting weird and walking around like they smell of death. If someone wanted an apocalypse simply because they wanted to “give it a go”, then they are forgetting they they won’t be the only ones trying to survive. Or simply those that are left behind, like Stanley the Dog. And fight to remain ahead of the times: that Humanity should just give up

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the film. The animation is actually drawn digitally on a cintiq. I used a TVpaint software for drawings and photoshop for backgrounds!

Paper Penguin Pic I've been eyeing the wacom cintiq for a while. How does it feel to be drawing on it? On regular paper the edge of your palm would be on the paper. On the cintiq, does it register the pressure of the edge of your palm, so you have to glide your hand in the air, or does it only register pressure from the accompanying pen?

NegativeNanase It can only regconize the pen pressure. But on some tablet, you can turn on the hand pressure (I didnt). On the beginning, it's a little weird and different from classic drawing but you will get use to it quickly. If you are planning to buy, I'm sure you will love it no matter what :) .

This animation brings tears to my eyes. Critique as an observer: you set a strong story throughout with only the use of sound and imagery and very cleverly use sound to change the mood. The dog as a character is very believably a dog. Stanley's movements and behaviors are very dog-like and when he becomes more expressive it doesn't break the illusion. Over all i loved it and i expect great things from you in the future! I would definitely pay to watch a movie in this style, it has a magic that is often lost in a sea of 3D rendering.

I can't imagine leaving my dog behind during an emergency to fend for himself. No matter what, you bring your pets along with you. I am in a hurricane zone and saw what happened during Katrina in New Orleans, USA....many pets were left behind and died in the flooding, tragic.

I liked this, I liked this a lot. The kid's probably going to grow up to be a badass zombie hunter, but the only thing bugging me is how the #1 dog bowl is upside down. If you put the dog bowl right side up, the words "#1 dog" would be upside down.
