Formation flying as Steven and I are trained to fly wing to wing in our Cirrus SR22 aircraft. With radio calls, multiple cameras, all the formation positions, emergency break manoeuvres, and the one position I suck at in our Formation Endorsement training.

Did my formation endorsement at Moorabbin also, in 2005. Instructors asked our general experience etc. Me: flown most common singles. Form buddy: I mostly fly twins these days.Instructor: What sort - Seminole, Duchess? Form Buddy: Nah, 737's. Walking out to our aircraft, my formation buddy asked if I'd ever flown a Warrior. Yes, of course, why? "Well I'm glad at least one of us has!"

Hey Stef. Half way through my endorsement now. I've spoken to a few instructors, plus a RAAF pilot mate and all are a bit surprised that you had to do line abreast. Only the Roulettes do that form in the RAAF, and the other civvy form instructors I've spoken to don't include it in their syllabus. Hats off if you have mastered it, but it's an advanced maneuver that I certainly won't be doing in a hurry :) BTW, this formation stuff really does rock!

I’m never setting out to portray myself as anything else other than me, and I make mistakes and suck at some things, so I’m happy to reflect that in my videos. The aircraft in trail should touch down first; it will be down and decelerating, as the other aircraft touches down. Provides a better safety margin; what if a tire blows or a brake drags on either aircraft?
