If Dodge reinstated the Hellcats tomorrow, there would be zero difference to the environment. In other words, there is no atmospheric measuring equipment that can be made that would be able to detect the presence of the Hellcat engines and their emissions. There are not enough of them to make a difference. At all. The left have overplayed their hands in this regard, and it looks like the incoming administration will begin to rectify that problem.
@zenkoz31585 күн бұрын
@@ericgolden7636 it was never about the SRT engines, they burned through their credits for fleet emissions by having the rest of their lineup be awful on fuel economy and emissions. If they would've been making more hybrids or even decently fuel efficient vehicles aside from the V8s they could still have them. That's why Ford gets to keep theirs. This is all on the company's leadership for knowing this was going to happen but not preventing it. But hey, God forbid anyone believe a corporation is at fault, it's always the government lol. Soon enough you'll have plenty of reasons to dislike your elected representatives, project 2025 is hell incarnate.

Great reporting and commentary Brad. Your comment about mandates and wild product leaps either left or right are extremely relatable. There are other truths that follow your train of thought. Big corporations are rarely the innovator. Usually, entrepreneurs in startups give us the broadest innovation. And when they hit a winner, a manufacturer steps in to buy or bring in the innovators' new stuff. And the other truth is "aim small, miss small, aim big, you can miss big" which is another reason gov't support should be aimed broadly at those startups, and not at the big manufacturers. The government shouldn't rush to pick winners and losers, but instead support research and development projects. It's too early to pick BEVs as "the way to go". As you said, the grid can't handle that. We need many viable AFFORDABLE solutions and let time reveal the winners. Personally, I would like to see hydrogen (ICE and fuel cell) come into play. It has the potential to drive performance cars in a really fun way. Nevertheless, it's time to undo the mess Tavares has made of the product lineup. The company needs cars and trucks all the way down and up the line. It cannot survive as a high-end performance-only company, at least not without painful shrinking to the size of a Maserati.

I think the reason Tavares has lasted as long as he has, is because the Stellantis board is all in with the green/EV agenda, and I agree that he will likely be replaced with someone who will stay the course. I've read a lot of technical engineering analyses of EV technology over the years, and it's just not ready for prime time. I see a niche market for EVs, and that's fine, but I'm totally against mandates because they are not practical.

Happy Veterans Day! I agree, I don't believe in mandates. I currently have an EV and I didn't purchase it to save fuel. I purchased it because it had features the gasoline version didn't such as adaptive air suspension. With that being said, it was a huge mistake. We don't have the infrastructure for it and it's caused me to trade my time and freedom for charging and fighting. I've had more arguments and near fights at the charger in six months than in my 38 years on earth. The chargers are always broke, people are always cutting the line, unplugging your car, telling you how long to charge. It's mass hysteria. Even Tesla's use the chargers because the rate is cheaper but we can't use theirs. And don't get me started on range. I'm currently trading it in for a V8 760xi and never looking back until i'm forced to drive an EV

Thank You for Your Service to all Vets - Happy Veterans Day. OC you are Correct!! Too far towards Left, Climate, & EV etc. From my research, EV Car Makers put out the basically the same pollution as ICE Car Makers at build. Charging also needs fossil fuels - Coal & Nat Gas = 70%+ our electric grid energy. Also, some Land is destroyed getting limited precious metals for EV Batteries. Some poor labor issues (blood diamond type EV battery work in the industry). Some other concerns, poor EV resale value & Infrastructure not ready. There are Tech Problems for All EV's (software concerns, weather effects EV Charge & Range, towing effects EV range, few stations, waiting at EV stations, and not stable EV charging prices etc.), In fact, for some of these reasons 40% of EV owners are going back to ICE. AS for Stellantis, they are NOT considering its customers of Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep & its Dealer network in the US market with its product offering. As you stated Ford and GM have made the adjustment and EV is now a part of the portfolio. Continue the great work.

But they all work the same as before, I don’t have to do anything different to operate any of those. Using lithium in large quantities to power vehicles is just not the answer. EV’s take around 70K miles just to get to break even point. Then one EV fire is an environmental setback, not to mention the environmental setback when a battery is recycled, and then there’s the additional tire dirt. @ocmotivator4 күн бұрын
Well I’d have to disagree. But if you believe the medias lies I can see how it would appear that way. Remember Trump was a democrat, Elon was a democrat, tulsi was a democrat, JFK JR was a democrat. And Trump never changed his beliefs going back to the 80’s. Watch his videos. But what happened is that the left went so far off the rails that his mainstream democrat beliefs are now considered right wing. This is why the republicans tried to stop him from running the first time. He was too moderate/left for them. He refused to outlaw abortion(put in “conservative judges” to hand it back to the states so no future republican or Dem Pres can take it away, he supported gay marriage when Biden, Obama and Clinton openly didn’t, he wants the govt or ins to pay for IVF for all families, and he’s heavily anti-war. Dude sounds like an old school democrat!. The right never agreed with his leftist beliefs but they couldn’t stop him. Then the left went so far left to make him the bad guy again when you could take almost all of trumps policies and overlay them over old school democrat policies. He’s the farest left gop president we’ve ever had and it takes 5 minutes on google to find actual videos of the last democrat presidents saying the same thing he’s saying now, minus the crazy stuff. Look back when the epa actually did good common sense work and then they went nuts and overreached. We just elected a traditional left pro American businessman who the left (who used to love him) decided to try to destroy in pursuit of insane extreme left ideologies. The fact is that ‘id prob be a democrat if they didn’t lose their minds this last decade. Oh and Project 2025 is exactly what the traditional republicans want in place and Trump has stopped them by winning. They knew it would get pinned on him and hurt his campaign which is what they wanted. Trust me when it tell you that they will try like hell to install a far right republican in trumps place in the next presidential election since they couldn’t get Trump to go along. We gotta hope that the Dems stop their insanity and run a moderate candidate or JD Vance and Tulsi can run and win or we will see how much damage extreme right can do.
