Aaron Stark exactly! ccr especially would sometimes play their times twice as fast live. most bands were also fueled by cocaine and amphetamines so that can contribute too.

In an interview Darcy stated that the band often put little weights on their fingers for rehearsals to slow their hands down. For the show they would remove the weights and their hands would move much faster now, speeding up the songs.

@bigsky30723 жыл бұрын
Yup. I was born in 1968, so i grew up in the 70's, but other than that, the 90's were great, after that, everything went to hell
@toddinthemiddle3 жыл бұрын
@@bigsky3072 i also grew up in the 70s, but my take on the 90s is not that it was the best decade for music, but the last great one. i've put 60s, 70s 80s and 90s "best of" collections together, and i came up with one 60s, three 70s, six 80s and only three 90s discs of roughly sixteen songs per. IMHO, 1980-1985 (my take is that music started declining badly in 1986) has so much amazing stuff, with the new wave, pop rock and "metal", that it easily surpasses the 90s. as an aside, i also took a lot of incomplete studio greatest hits collections of various artists from the 60s, 70s, 80s and made them whole.

Billy's guitar solo still makes the hair on my arms stand up to this day. Only one other guitarist does that, but nonetheless it's a moment of euphoria that just stops time for me. A band that was ahead of their time and gone too soon. I'll take the Pumpkins over bands like FFDP or Disturbed any day.
@dannymiles65033 жыл бұрын
Theres a guitarist who i saw live in 1978 when i was 18. He is Adrian Belew and David Bowie wanted the world to hear what he could do, so he stole him from Frank Zappa and he became lead guitarist for Bowie on the 1978 Heroes/Isolar World Tour. Adrian since went on to blow minds worldwide as guitar for Talking Heads in 1980 and then joined King Crimson. Adrians 5min intro to Station To Station live in 78 blew me away lights out. Billy's love for Bowie is widely known and they played together once i know of. Billy's Fender Strat howls, screams and groans just like Adrian's Strat and Billy would of been inspired by Adrian to produce that pyrotechnic sound. The Cherub Rock solo is like its in its own universe, its that great. Adrian has since gone on to play with so many artists. He is a legend and theres nobody other than he and Billy who can produce that sound. They were both playing really old beat up same models, its amazing.
