@@IScoreUnderPressure4 Please stop propping Steph's "unanimous MVP". The only reason he was the 1st was because some moron voted for Carmelo over Lebron to slight him (Boston writer, shocker). The irony of Steph getting the 1st "unanimous" MVP in 2016 when LBJ was head & shoulders the best player in the league while beating him in the Finals. Steph a one-way player, with one elite skill.

Greatest three point shooter doesn't make you necessarily the best shooter of all time. Three is very volatile and can be inconsistent. You can argument that the greatest shooters tend to be from the mid-range simply because it's so much more consistent and has less volatility. But because of the three-point shot being more than two, you live with that but it doesn't necessarily make you a better shooter. Just cause you're the best three

A generational basket player in sports is an athlete who is exceptional and stands out among their peers. They are considered once-in-a-generation talents, possessing extraordinary skills, abilities, and achievements that set them apart in their sport. These players go beyond being great athletes; they redefine the standards of excellence in their sport and have a lasting impact on the game. They are seen as the best in their sport and are often compared to the greatest players of all time. Essentially, a generational player transcends their era, leaving a legacy that is highly respected and remembered for years to come. These players are rare and are celebrated for their unique talents and contributions to their sport. And that is Stephen Curry, the man who changed the sports of basketball.

Jordan could not do it without Rodman, and Pippen; Bird could not do it without Kevin McHale and Robbert Parish. Magic could not do it without Karem, James Worthy, and Michael Cooper. The way Stephen A breaks down Steph Curry's game in this video is 100% on point. Most three-point shooters are stand-still shooters. Very few can shoot off the dribble. Steph not only shoots from long range standing still and off the dribble, he also shoots coming off picks, screens and moving without the ball! In fact, I would say he is the only player in the NBA and on the planet that can shoot from long range in this multitude of ways! I've never seen anybody do it like Steph in the past or present!

Generational talent and generational player are two different things in my opinion. When Steph came into the league, NOBODY saw this coming what his career has come out to be nor the type of player he is. But it’s a testament to his hard work that he has become generational as a player without coming in with all the hype and talent as other players.

I honestly understand Gilbert's point, he's arguing the rarity and difficulty of Curry's attributes. A child looks at LeBron, Wemby, and Magic and when reality hits them knows they probably won't be 6'9 or 7'4 with those wingspans and have the mobility they have, but any child (especially during 2015-18 when Curry started going crazy) knows they can be an elite shooter like Curry if they just put in the time. Trae Young is a good example, elite shooter, clearly got influence from Curry. HOWEVER, not only was Curry the first to master this aspect on all levels but his impact is something undeniable, 20-point leads literally aren't safe anymore BECAUSE of what Curry did. He changed the game and offense entirely, that and it's a lot more than his shooting, his off-ball movement, speed, ball-handling, finishing, etc. Anyone can be an elite shooter yes, but we ain't getting another Curry, lol. Literally just look at all the other elite shooters of previous generations and then Curry. It's not close.

to me, Steph's GOAT position could MAYBE be 5th but is more likely 6th and i wouldn't be mad at 7th but any lower is ridiculous to me.. this man isn't just the best 3-point shooter to ever grace the game of basketball he is the MOST ACCOMPLISHED 3-pointer, top 5 most 3's made in an NBA Season: 1st: Stephen Curry, 2nd James Harden, 3rd Stephen Curry, 4th Stephen Curry, 5th Stephen Curry, Most Career 3's of all time: Stephen Curry: 3:747 (set to pass well over 4000 before retirement), most 3 pointers made in a singular game, 1st: Klay Thompson with 14, 2nd Stephen Curry with 13 and Steph is on that list in the top 10, 8 times. Steph isn't just the best 3 point shooter, he owns the 3 ball in all respects, he also led the greatest team in basketball history the 16-17 season Warriors.. he is a talent unheard of and has the trophies and rings to show for it too and it's funny to me Tmac will say Steph hasn't won without his guys when people were saying not long ago Steph couldn't win without Kevin Durant, but he did.. a little goal post move there.. Steph does make the team, Steph's scoring prowess from the 3 line wins them championships. I personally think the fact Steph got robbed out of Final's MVP in 2015 has haunted him to this day, the judges then acted like he doesn't run the team and after KD joined even tho Steph's warriors went to the finals in 2016 and he would've won final's MVP that year by a long shot, however they lost in 7 games to what can only be described as a very angry LeBron James.

There are two ways of looking at Gil’s opinion. He’s either flat out wrong or he’s wrong but can be right if he were to really specify his definition of what makes a player generational. You can’t say generational players can’t be mimicked, give an example of Magic the 6’9” playmaking with crazy vision but then ignore that Lebron checks those same boxes physically and talent wise. Steph came into the league in 09, 15 years in he’s lead the league in total 3s made 8 of those seasons (5 of those seasons were consecutive mind you). He still holds the record for the most 3s made in a season. At this rate, it’s ARGUABLE that Steph’s shooting makes him generational than Magic’s playmaking makes him generational.

I’m not saying I agree, I’m just gonna say “generational talent” is a term usually attached to someone before they even hit the draft. LeBron, Zion, AI, Yao Ming maybe even. Curry blossomed years into his career (even though Skip Bayless liked him over Blake Griffin). So I wouldn’t say he’s not, but I would say he isn’t a typical “generational talent”. Even Jokic, who’s being thrown into the GOAT centre conversations, doesn’t get called “generational talent” on the regular.
