You can argument that the greatest shooters tend to be from the mid-range simply because it's so much more consistent and has less volatility. I honestly understand Gilbert's point, he's arguing the rarity and difficulty of Curry's attributes. A child looks at LeBron, Wemby, and Magic and when reality hits them knows they probably won't be 6'9 or 7'4 with those wingspans and have the mobility they have, but any child (especially during 2015-18 when Curry started going crazy) knows they can be an elite shooter like Curry if they just put in the time. Trae Young is a good example, elite shooter, clearly got influence from Curry. HOWEVER, not only was Curry the first to master this aspect on all levels but his impact is something undeniable, 20-point leads literally aren't safe anymore BECAUSE of what Curry did. He changed the game and offense entirely, that and it's a lot more than his shooting, his off-ball movement, speed, ball-handling, finishing, etc. Anyone can be an elite shooter yes, but we ain't getting another Curry, lol. Literally just look at all the other elite shooters of previous generations and then Curry. It's not close.
