An Unexpected But Effective Rear Naked Choke Attack

This is one of my favorite ways to set up the RNC (rear naked choke) because it's so unexpected. Your opponent is anticipating and defending against the hooks, but you use that opportunity to sink in the choke deep and tap him out without ever taking his back.

When he's sitting in a chair just watching Stephan Kesting on KZbin, that's a perfect time to RNC him. He'll never see it coming.

Stephan always has the best stuff. I get alot of my RNC this way. I'm still very white belt and the other students are very good at spotting the setups for things ie perfect position, hooks, seatbelts etc. But I have long arms, am very sneaky by nature and very patient. I snatch so many of my finishes with an oppotunistic RNC. I have even grabbed as a few as they are scrambling round to try to take my back. That nice arm shape and how Stephan rotates it into the exposed neck there is such a great dual purpose control + be already under the chin mechanic. One thing I keep doing as a defence, that keeps working, is actually letting them transition to my back but snatching a limb with a 2 on 1. It seems like your in huge danger but really you are able to threaten them with straight armbars, americanas and kimuras from mad positions. Anyone else had success with this? Is it a common technique? I think it could make for a decent video topic! Cheers

Someone on reddit told me you are of the belief that there are blood chokes and there are air chokes. And that you had a video on this topic. Tried searching KZbin but I didn't see anything. I very much disagree with this stance so could you point me to said video/s?
